I live in Nashville but both of my daughters are full-time students at ********** ** ** ** ***********. I am writing to call your attention to the parking situation in Chattanooga. My oldest daughter is in her Master's program and just moved there in August 2024. Since moving there 8 months ago, she has spent $700 on PARKING TICKETS. For a poor college student, I had to chip in and I'm not happy to throw away that much money. It isn't because she isn't paying to park. The meter's near campus only accept 2 hrs but her class was 3 hrs. Plus there is NO free parking anywhere. As a visitor, I travel to see my children. Coming from Nashville, I actually paid to park but still got a ticket. I took a screen shot of the receipt from Omega that popped up on my phone that said I paid 3 hrs and STILL got a ticket even though it wasn't expired. I arrived at 9pm and my ticket says 9:34. I tried to dispute it, showing screen shot of my phone and they still fined me. I paid $8 to park but my ticket is for $60. That is INSANE!!! I literally watched a parking attendant standing beside another car waiting for the paid time to expire and when it did, 1 minute after, a ticket was given. As a visitor to Chattanooga this is a POOR WAY to show hospitality. Chatt relies on entertainment income but the parking ***** are ruining the city. I will say my daughter HATES it there now and can't wait to get away. I agree with her the parking situation is not friendly and does not represent the city well. I used to think Chattanooga was a lovely city but the parking situation makes it a horrible city. I wrote the City Council but, what I would like is for BBB to contact Omega. I actually got another ticket via camera while sitting in my car while my daughter ran inside of a restaurant to pick up to-go food. Omega is a private company profiting off of city tourists and they are NOT nice.Customer Answer

I sincerely appreciate your response. The absurd parking situation in Chattanooga is not the image the city wants to express to tourists. I always thought of the city as a beautiful town but as of now, in my opinion, it has a tarnish or black eye and loses its appeal because of the parking problem. I live in Nashville and both of my daughters are from Nashville but live in Chatt now. None of us have ever gotten a parking ticket here. Chattanooga has the worst parking I have ever seen and for a city that depends on tourist, it isn't inviting.
Attached Omega ticket was my car. I paid to park near ****** ******* where my daughter works. A receipt popped up on my phone where I paid for 3 hours. I parked at 9pm and this ticket was issued at 9:34. I still have the receipt on my phone which I sent to Omega. Their customer service is terrible. I'm still fighting the ticket.
Again, this is NOT the impression a city wants or needs. Tourists don't go back to cities where they get a bad impression.Business Response

Hello,
Your dispute was denied because the receipt you provided was for the wrong date, wrong location, and for a totally different tag number. Our system is designed to not allow a ticket to be issued to a tag number with an active parking session. Your citation was waived as a one time courtesy per the request of the mayor's office. It is unclear what more is expected with this filing.

On Feb 28th, 2025 - I paid for parking at Zone #**** beginning at 5:54pm to 9:54pm (********** Session ID# ************************************) and was charged $12.90. When I tried to extend my parking time at 9:45pm - it would only allow me to extend in 1 min increments (********** Parking Ref *******) and was charged $0.45.
I was ticketed by Omega Parking for a parking violation at 10:03 (violation # ***********). I disputed the violation with Omega but they only looked at the 1 min increment and said that I had used street parking kiosk. Both parking receipts clearly reference Zone **** (a gravel lot on the corner of * **** and ******** St. The lot does not have a closing time, and no explanation was given to as to why I was unable to properly extend my parking time.
I attempted to clarify with Omega parking that there is not another parking area/section that uses #****, the option dispute the violation further was not available and no other means of contact were available (email and phone). They also do not provide a copy or record of my original dispute in their only reply.
I paid the violation to avoid additional fees. I believe this company is improperly managing that payment system in order to defraud Chattanooga residents like myself.Business Response

Hello,
We only received a screenshot of a list of receipts with your dispute and the zone numbers are not visible. The response you received was based on the information you provided. Thank you for providing your actual receipts here. You were not able to pay for parking again because you still had an active parking session. You would need to select the option to extend your current session to add time. This citation has already been paid and is considered closed. Please contact us at ********************* so that we may assist you in reopening the ticket so the amount can be adjusted. Please include the receipts attached to your complaint for faster resolution.

I am rejecting this response because:1. The receipts that are attached to this complaint are the SAME that I sent to Omega to initially dispute this claim with the zone number clearly in view on both. I just highlighted the zone this time so they would actually acknowledge it.
2. As stated in this complaint AND in my original dispute the extend time option in the park mobile app was used when there was only 6 minutes left in my original parking session. I routinely use this app for parking. I understand and know how to use it and add time to parking sessions.
As a well meaning and responsible citizen of Chattanooga, I paid the violation fee so I would not receive more fees (something I'm sure Omega would have preferred) and there was no other way to continue the dispute through the Omega system. I have received more communication from them HERE than I have through their actual contacts and website.
There is a reason this business has an F rating. If you are a company looking for a parking management service please read these complaints and understand how the company does business and then hire someone else.
I don't expect anything further from Omega.
Sincerely,
****** ********Initial Complaint

On February 15, 2025, I visited Chattanooga and parking in one of Omega's lots. I paid the meter in the lot for 30 minutes while I could go get breakfast downtown. My time expired at 10:15 AM. When I returned to my car at that time, I saw that I had gotten a ticket for non-payment two minutes prior, despite my receipt from paying the ticket machine being prominently displayed on the dash board. The ticket was $40! And, better yet, if I didn't pay the fine after 30 days, the fine would increase to $60! When I went to dispute the ticket online, the representative told me that I didn't actually pay and that they would "courteously" lower the fine to $30. As of the time of writing (March 1, 2025), they STILL have yet to respond to why I got ticketed two minutes prior to my time expiring despite CLEARLY showing a receipt for payment on my dashboard. BBB should investigate this company for fraud and extortion.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because I paid a meter IN YOUR LOT and I received a payment receipt. This still does not explain why I got a ticket for non-payment, ESPECIALLY two minutes prior to my time expiring. If I didn't pay, as your parking ticket so states, then why did I get a payment receipt?Sincerely,

Hello,
You have a receipt from a city parking meter that is designated for street parking only. It was not issued by Omega Parking or it would say "Omega Parking" on the top of the receipt. You paid to park on the side of the street but you were actually parked in our privately owned parking lot where payments are only accepted via **** ****** as the posted signage states. Furthermore, the meter you used is not located inside our lot, but on the perimeter at the edge of the street. To avoid confusion, we have a sign posted in our lot, in front of that meter that says, "STOP, do not pay this meter." Oversight of posted signage does not justify waiving a citation.

I am rejecting this response because I still paid to park in the lot for 30 minutes with an expiration at 10:15 AM, yet I received a citation at 10:13 AM for a "non-paying vehicle". I CLEARLY paid for the time I parked in the lot and the ticket and responses from this business indicating that I did not is utterly false.

Company denied information I provided that there was an issue with accepting my credit card for parking at **** on 12/9/24. This is not acceptable!
I parked here so I could easily access my wife’s wheelchair so we could eat at the **** Restaurant and see *********** with company from out of town. The time stamp on my phone where I attempted to call their Customer Service along with the attached picture that only gives me an option of using cash (I had no $1s or $5s). The lot was not half full when we arrived nor half full when we left so no business was turned away.
I would be glad to pay the $12. But not the $40 or $30 they offered. My wife is disabled, we draw SS and I have to work part time and still can’t make ends meet. I have to watch every penny we spend.Business Response

Location is ***** ***** ******. Date was 6/18/24. Fine $60. Threat: Impoundment
Omega Parking Services is seeking payment of a fine that is unjustified and has issued several threatening notices which include immediate impoundment should I park on their properties. Omega Parking Services has rejected my appeal documented with photos and testimony and several follow up communications despite clear evidence that I followed the directions they posted at the entrance to the parking facility and clear evidence that no additional signage contradicted my understanding of the directions posted at the entrance. In short, the entrance sign said that patrons should park on the first level. I entered the garage, proceeded to the first level and took the first available spot. The parking space was not marked nor posted as restricted which is generally the case in Chattanooga garages adjacent to residential and or commercial properties. I had no intention of parking in an unauthorized or reserved space and I acted in good faith based on the signage at the entrance and lack there of in the space i selected. My ask is for Omega Parking Services to accept my appeal and forgive the "unauthorized parking violation" based on the facts i have supplied. My suggestion is for Omega Parking Services to post signage that clearly defines the parking levels and in individual spaces that are excluded from public parking.Business Response

Hello,
Please see the attached photos of our posted signage. There are a total of 13 signs posted throughout the second level of the garage, including one at eye-level at each set of stairs which must be used to access any place other than the resident's apartments. Parking on the second level is reserved for residents only at all times. All vehicles must display a permit to park on the second level. Unfortunately, oversight of posted signage does not justify waiving a citation. The original fee is $40; $60 includes late fees. I am rejecting this response because:it was not clear that we were not on level 1. We parked on the first level at the top of the ramp from the entrance sign that said level 1 was for the patrons of the businesses. The signs referenced by Omega do not say we were on level 2.they just say floor 2 is restricted which we assumed was the next level up. We thought we were on level 1 and therefore in compliance with the directions posted at the entrance and on the stairwell. This is simply an issue of confusion.

Hello,
The parking garage is only 3 levels. By taking the ramp up from the first level, you arrive on level 2 where there are 12 signs posted indicating that it is reserved for residents only at all times. This includes a sign posted at eye-level at both sets of stairs, which one would have to take to access any place other than the apartments. Oversight of the posted signage does not justify waiving a citation. We encourage you to revisit the location to see the signs.

I am rejecting this response because:We approached the entrance to parking garage, stopped, read the instructions posted on the sign then proceeded up the ramp to the first level and parked in an unmarked spot, open spot. The signs eat the steps said we could not park on level 2 which we already knew from the signage at the entrance. We parked on the first level served by the ramp. There was no signage that said the first level served by the ramp was level 2 and no signs marking the open spot as a restricted space. We never went any further to discover that there was only one more level above us. Again, we acted in good faith. We followed the instructions as posted and did not disregard restricted notices because none were posted making it obvious the open parking space we found was reserved or restricted.

On 7/17/2024 I parked in an Omega Parking space. Their sign instructed me to pay online at their website which I did. Hello,
Unfortunately, we cannot accept a credit card statement as proof of payment. We must have your parking receipt that reflects the date, time, location, and tag number. Fortunately, the lot you parked at requires payment via **** ******, which means your receipt can easily be found under the "history" tab in the app. Or, if you paid as guest, then your receipt would have been emailed to you. Once you locate it, please send it to us at *********************. Please be sure to reference your citation number in your email. On August 11th, 2024, I went to eat at *** *** *****. I parked in an Omega lot, on the 2nd level. I saw no signage saying I could not park on that level, nor was the parking space I used marked as being reserved for residents or other businesses. I paid $6.00 at the Kiosk machine, and received my receipt. When leaving, I had a ticket on my windshield for a parking violation, to pay $40.00 within (14) days. I checked my tag #, to confirm I didn’t make a mistake when I typed it in on the Kiosk machine, I did not. My receipt and the ticket was for my vehicle, tag # *******. This was at the ***** ***** Lot. I feel like the ticket is not justifiable, and want to contest it.Business Response

Hello,
Please see the attached photos of our posted signage. In addition to the large sign on the left before you drive up to the second level, we have 12 more signs posted throughout the second level. I parked in an Omega parking lot in the evening time on June 28th at 7:16 pm in Zone #**** in Chattanooga, TN We paid to park using our cell phone as the machine was broken. Multiple people were doing this that particular day. When we came back from the event we was going to, I had a ticket on my car. My phone had a timer from
Where I paid which showed to be back around 11:00 pm. We were back to the car no later than 8:00 pm. I tried filing a dispute with the screenshot of where the timer showed to be back around 11:00pm. Omega failed to accept this as the dispute. I ended up loosing my parking ticket somewhere so I attempted to call the company, I had to leave a voicemail which was around 11:00 am on Friday July 19th, it is now July 26th and I have yet to get a call back. While waiting for a call back I went ahead and submitted the proof of the parking coming out of my account to the email that was sent back to me saying they wouldn’t dispute it without more information. I then received an email saying I would have to file the dispute the way that I sent the other one in. That would be fine, but I 1) cannot find the parking ticket with the violation number and 2) no one at the company will answer the phone to help me get this figured out or give me a call back in order to get the ticket number so I can hopefully get it disputed. I paid over $8.00 for parking this day and now they’re trying to get most likely over $40.00 for something that I clearly paid for and when I try to get help from them, they will not help. I have never dealt with a parking company that wasn’t willing to help if a parking ticket was wrongfully issued until now.Business Response

I have contacted this company multiple times about getting a dispute done the ticket to which I received and I paid to park which is shown in the pictures that I have attached. However, I also sent these images to OMEGA and they’re still stating that it’s not enough information for the to dispute the ticket. I do not understand their reasoning for this, I have also called two times now and have yet to receive a call back. I received a ticket in the mail from them showing where they gave me a ticket which I yet still do not understand why I am receiving as I said before, I paid to park. I have proof of it coming from my account and I also have proof of the timer showing for me to be back at 11:30 PM. Which I was, we returned to my car at 7:30-8:30 PM.Business Response
