I recently hired Hopkins Homes, LLC (David H******) to rebuild an enclosed deck for my home. Unfortunately, I am extremely dissatisfied with the overall experience. Here are the key issues I encountered: Poor Workmanship: The quality of the deck construction was subpar. There were visible flaws in the materials used, uneven surfaces, exposed nails, gapping, and several areas where the wood wasn't properly secured. However, the most concerning issue is my now bowing roof. Missed Deadlines: The project took much longer than initially promised. Deadlines were repeatedly missed without any valid explanation or communication from David Hopkins. Over three months later, the one to two week project is still incomplete. Lack of Communication: Throughout the project, there was a significant lack of communication from David's end. My attempts to reach out for updates or clarification on certain aspects of the project were often ignored or met with vague responses or excuses. Unprofessionalism: The conduct of David and his team was unprofessional. They left the worksite messy and disorganized, and there was no effort made to clean up after themselves. The unprofessionalism was further demonstrated when we had several scheduled appointments for which David simply did not show or let us know he would not be coming. Failure to Address Concerns: When I raised my concerns with David, he acted concerned, but that is as far as it went. There was a lot of talk, but no action. Overall, my experience with Hopkins Home, LLC (David H******) was extremely disappointing, and I cannot recommend their services based on the quality of work, communication, and professionalism exhibited during my project.

While communication was not executed to an acceptable standard- which we fully take responsibility for, we did ask the customer how satisfied they were prior to a final punch list, and the response was 90% satisfied- just a few things here and there like different hardware. We allowed for a contract balance until they were 100% satisfied. Our last conversation, the question posed was- what could be done to gain the extra 10% and be completely happy so we could settle the balance… customer stated “I never planned to pay you anyway”. There is currently still a balance for the project. We were also told not to step foot on property or there would be repercussions. We still stand behind our labor warranty and are more than willing to complete the remaining concerns. Those concerns of which, as stated in this review, were never brought up to anyone within our company, and we were actually told everything looked great and was a solid deck.
