      On April 7th, 2020 I requested cancellation of my account with Payscape via email. Per the directions in that email, I mailed a written cancellation notice to: **** **** ********* ****** *** **** *** ******** ** ***** Attn: Retention Department to have my account closed on my anniversary date 6/2/2020. Both the original email sent on April 7th and a scan of the letter that was mailed on April 28th, 2020 are attached here. I assumed that it was taken care of -- I no longer received any settlement reports or other email communications from Payscape in regards to merchant fees being withdrawn from my bank account. However, when I was working on my 2020 books in 2021, I noticed that merchant fees were continuing to be withdrawn from my bank account by Payscape. At that point I called to let them know that I was being charged for an account that had been closed on the anniversary date of 6/2/2020. On that call I was told that they did not receive my letter and that I was now outside of my cancellation window. This is fraudulent. I mailed my written cancellation request per their instructions on 4/28/2020, and the account has been INACTIVE since then. Monthly service fees should have stopped on 6/2/2020. A satisfactory solution to this is a refund of the merchant service fees I have been charged since 6/2/2020. I believe that Payscape acted fraudulently. Their system, which requires a mailed written request for closure, is out-of-date and allows them to "lose" closure requests that are sent via mail. Moving forward, Payscape should streamline their closing process. Closing an account should be an easy and streamlined process that can be done via the internet or phone with a confirmation of closure sent immediately. It appears to me that Payscape has knowingly obfuscated the whole closing process so they can rack up service fees from small businesses such as mine. In summary, my account has been inactive since April of 2020 and should have been closed on 6/2/2020.
