    I enjoyed watching the shoe repairs on the ******* show "Trenton and Heath," the owners of Southern Polished. I consequently purchased some sandals expecting high quality. I hated that the shoe was produced in Mexico instead of the United States.
    Admittedly, the quality was "okay," but not near my hopes given their expense. My primary concern was that they did not fit and I had to return them. I had expected that we would be in a partnership regarding the return. Instead, I was charged both ways in shipping. I had no way of trying the fit prior, so was disappointed to pay @ $13.00 to try the fit. I believe this policy is not in keeping with the helpful and fair practices that the company represents.

    Unfortunately, we're quite disappointed to see this customer come directly to the BBB to vent his frustrations. As a small company, we're always a phone call away and are always happy to help, but this customer never contacted us to discuss.

    This was a clear case of the customer NOT READING before purchasing. Our website clearly states under our men's flip flops that they are "Designed in Nashville, TN - Handcrafted in Leon, Mexico". It's literally the FIRST thing written when someone clicks on the product. We're not trying to hide anything. It couldn't be any more clear.

    In regards to the quality, that is purely his opinion. As someone who is in the shoe industry, I can state unequivocally that our sandals are made from some of the best products available (full grain leathers, Vibram rubber soles...). We charge what they're worth, and we also charge more than other MASSIVE scale sandal brands because we're NOT massively scaled. We're a very small business, and we order smaller batches than large, multimillion dollar sandal companies ordering their products from China who don't pay many of their employees a fair wage.

    In regards to our return policy, if the customer had read, it clearly states "We will send you a return label. If you choose to return an item, $6.00 will be withheld from your refund to cover shipping and restocking." What this means is, if he wanted to switch his flip flops for another size, we would have done so free of charge; however, if he wanted to return them, we would have paid for his return shipping minus $6.00 for restocking. We are hardly the only small company out here doing this.

    Again, it is VERY unfortunate that this customer apparently did not read anything on our website before buying.
