      I am writing to complain & dispute a debt.Acct # ********** I received a bill from Capital Emergency Physicians at the beginning of May for 1,760.00.I called on 5/3/23 and spoke with a rep who told me that they would discount my total amount due if I would make monthly payments totaling ****** by the end of September.The discount was 70%.I agreed to do so and made my first payment on 5/3/23 for ******. Conf# E4578449 I then got another statement dated 5/16/23 that reflected my recent payment and said I still owed 1,688.24.So, I called back again on 5/23/23 and left a message. no response.5/31/23- I spoke with **** via ********** confirmed that I still had the 70% discount & once I pay the total amount of ****** by the end of September, that my balance will be paid off in full. So I paid via phone the 2nd payment of ****** making my balance ******. Conf # G4756686.I continued to make payments as promised each month.5/3- ****** 5/31- ****** 7/5/23 ****** 7/17/23 ****** (this was an additional payment in between payments to pay off my debt sooner)Then I was turned over to collections on 8/3/23. With my remaining balance, per our agreement with Capital Emergency Physicians, being only ****** remaining and due at the end of September.Now, I am being told I owe ********. I was shocked by this and just couldnt wrap my ahead around why I was turned into collections and the amount was different than we both agreed on.On 8/21/23- I called Wakefield and Associates to dispute my debt. I spoke with *********** and he offered to give me a discount of 50% if I pay half of the ******** incorrect balance. I do not owe this balance according to my records and also direct communication from employees at or that represent Capital Emergency Physicians. Also, you should be able to understand that when I get offered a verbal discount deal over the phone like now Wakefield has done, it is now difficult to find trustworthy. It is wrong and they know it.

      We were sent to collections from APP-American Physicians Partners for a bill we never received. When I call APP, I was told that the insurance denied the bill and we owed 1,688.00. I called our insurance company and they had NO RECORD of receiving a claim from APP for the ER Doctor. I called APP back and told them that we never received a bill; that we didn't know we had a bill till it was sent to collections. I was told "that's interesting" you just confirmed the address and you "didn't" receive a bill. I strongly stated that I didn't like "that's interesting". I told APP that I also work collections and last year during the massive COVID outbreak, mail was not being delivered properly throughout the United States. I knew this for a fact, because our company was having major issues getting mail as well. Then when I told APP that our insurance NEVER received a claim from them, they had me confirm our insurance info and guess what... They sent the claim to the wrong location. Resulting in our account going to collections because insurance didn't pay. I told APP that I wanted this out of collections and was told they could not do this till the bill was paid by insurance. I stated that this was not my fault that it landed in their lap for NOT BILLING PROPERLY and that I needed to get a bill showing the balance after insurance paid and I had an EOB. This should NEVER have been sent to collections (due to their error). I asked to speak with the manager and was told they "were not available" and they would have them call me. Before APP sends someone to collections, they better start checking to see if they followed through on billing the insurance properly!!!! There is "NO WORK ETHIC" anymore with most employees and no one seems to care about doing a job properly!!!!!!
