I booked my reservation through Hotels.com but needed to make changes that couldn't be done online. I called the number listed with this specific hotel & the man who answered identified himself as being at the front desk. I cancelled the 1st night but kept the 2nd. He said he confirmed that & it would be adjusted to only a 1-night stay. When I arrived, there was no reservation under my name. This hotel did not communicate my change in reservation, so I was marked as a no show, charged for the night & the remainder of my stay was cancelled. It was during KS state basketball so there were no rooms available in town. No offer was made to help locate another room in town or be put on a cancellation list. The asst. manager only offered suggestions after I asked. Her only suggestion then was to try towns 30 minutes away when I had already driven 3 hours. They didn't even have a list of hotels in the area. The only thing she did was say I'm sorry & supposedly refund my $. So far, my card looks like it's a pending charge, not a refund. I tried to make phone calls to other hotels in the lobby. I was unsuccessful so went back to the desk to ask what number to call to file a complaint. While I was talking to her a man came out from the back & stood there but offered no input. He didn't ID himself either. I was told to call the number I used to make changes to my original reservation. When I called the #, interestingly enough I got the same woman I had just talked with in the hotel. At this time, I asked to speak to someone higher up. She said the owner was available. I asked her if that was the man that came out earlier & she said yes. I asked for a # to call that would be someone associated with the hotel chain & higher up than the owner of this specific location. She gave me the same number I had just called! Be wary of this hotel.... things don't seem to be very straight forward. Sleep Inn/Choice hotels has been contacted but no resolution so far.
