I've bought several high mileage, as-is, used commercial vehicles over the last 10 years for my small business to use as beaters moving supplies around. They always need 2-3k worth of love to get them in good shape. That's pretty normal when you buy used in this category. Went in with the same expectation here. Save some $ and buy small & local right? Unfortunately, B&L omitted a known issue indicating a failing transmission that I wasn't able to find during the test drive. After having it check out for normal repairs on a new-to-me vehicle the cost will be $9. I went back to my salesman, Bobby, and told him I knew about the transmission and parking brake now. He instructed me to bring it in to their mechanics. Given what I was sold I assume that was just to tell me "its fine" or bandaid it somehow. I asked B&L to do the right thing despite the "as-is" paperwork and take it back. Bobby stopped replying. 2 Different local mechanics have now told me to avoid this place as they've heard similar stories from plenty of people. Wish I had talked to them prior. There are probably some okay cars here just like any used lot. But knowing they will omit or actively hide major mechanical known issues instead of taking the occaisional loss on a bad auction purchase should be a red flag for potential buyers. Go somewhere else.
