On May 29, 2025, I contacted the bail bondsman in question for services for my brother, ***** ***** ******. I spoke with Porsha, owner of the company who told me that she will be able to post his bond. The bond amount was $2500, however, Porsha agreed that I pay her $1863 for her to post bail & pay the remaining amount at a later date. I sent 2 separate transactions, in the amount of $900 via Zelle and $963 via debit card payment. Once payment was received, I did not hear from Porsha until June 3, 2025, when I called to ask the status of Mr. ******’s release. Porsha, told me that she was unable to get him out & that I had to go to the clerk of courts. When I ask for the refund, she stated that per her policy, there would be a hold on my money and that she will return it in 14 days. At the end of the 14 day grace period, I contacted Porsha and asked what time can I expect my refund in full. Porsha said, she was busy at the moment and will call me back once she returned to the office. After several attempts of contacting her via phone & text, I never heard from her again, until 8/8/25. After submitting a complaint with the Department of Insurance, Porsha contacted me to come pick up the money she stole from me. When asked for her to confirm the amount, she replied, “the amount is what I stated in DOI complaint”, in which it was $1863. Once I arrived the next day, Porsha counted out $1800 to me. I told her that I don’t accept partial payments and the amount was short $63. She told me that the processing fee would not be reimbursed to me. I am demanding the refund in full including the process fee due to her lying about being able to post federal bonds in which her company could not, my brother losing his job due to him being unable to post bond due to her holding the money & breaking her on “so called” (14) day return, which is unlawful per the bail bonds policy. Due to a service never being rendered, I am demanding my full refund including processing fee of $63.
