Our roof was replaced on July 21st through an insurance claim. We were notified by Cornerstone that there was damage to the siding during the installation. When we returned to our home, we did observe the damage to the side as well as damage to the lawn. Cornerstone said they were not responsible for the lawn damage because they were only on site for 3 hours. We felt the damage to the side was minimal and were willing to overlook it because we planned to paint the exterior in the next two years. Cornerstone sent someone in attempt to correct the damage caused only to create further damage that cannot be ignored. I was told that Cornerstone would repaint the side and if it did not match the remainder of the exterior would be painted per the contractor sent by Cornerstone. After 11 years of weather exposure, there is no way to match the paint according to the painter sent by Cornerstone and other professionals. We were told by the contractor sent by Cornerstone to paint samples around a corner of our home to see the color options in different angles and light. We did as asked. I obtained an estimate for the trim and porches of our home. At the time we did not feel Cornerstone was responsible. Cornerstone is denying liability to paint the exterior of our home other than the one side. We do not feel that we are responsible for the damage caused by Cornerstone, nor the costs to be compliant with our HOA covenants. We have tried to work with Colin at Cornerstone to come to an agreement. Unfortunately, Cornerstone is not willing to stand behind their company's work nor the subcontractors they are associated with. We feel that we have been understanding, patient and given Cornerstone the opportunity to correct this situation. They have implied that we are trying to hold them responsible for upgrading our home. The fact is that we asked for nothing until they caused further damage that must be corrected.
