    In 2018, Rhett B***** provided estate planning services to my uncle. This was primarily creating a last will and testament, a health care power of attorney, and a durable power of attorney. A nominal fee was charged.
    In Oct 2024, my uncle had a stroke, which motivated me to start using the durable power of attorney paperwork to manage his financial affairs. The first bank observed that none of the paperwork was properly notarized. The paperwork had been signed by a notary public, but no raised seal was applied and it had not been filed with the state.
    I called Rhett B***** to try and straighten this out. Best case, his office had properly notarized documents, or they could help me get the documents properly notarized, or they could simply refund the money. I called the office at least 3 times, always leaving a message with an office person who said I would get a call back. I was never called back.
    My uncle died in the very last days of 2024, making this whole POA process moot.
    It is bad enough that mistakes were made in what should have been a very simple process. But upon learning that there were issues that could be rectified, it is very disappointing that no attempt was made to help correct matters.
