Walk2Campus hired a collection agency to collect on a lease agreement for student housing, and have yet to submit the proper documentation to validate the date as required by law. I have contacted the business and collection agency and have gotten nowhere. Since 2022 this has been reported on my credit inaccurately. They have not provided the lease, they have not provided the warrant in debt or eviction order from the court. As required by law in the State of ********. He was no longer a student, made him Ineligible for housing, financial aid was the source of payment and we provided all documentation and proof he was withdrawn as a student well in advance. I contacted Walk2Campus and the response was we will do what the authorities tell us to do.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/24/2024

    Hello ******************,
I have attached all documentation from Walk2Campus. This documentation includes the original Lease agreement, account balances, and Financial Aid contract. A lease agreement with Walk2Campus is a binding contract. We are legally not permitted to treat students and non-students differently, per Fair Housing Regulations. Therefore, student status is not relevant for whether rent is due or not.
The Financial Aid contract clearly states the following: I understand if I fail to receive such funds I am still responsible for the amount due on the lease.
We were never notified that the resident was no longer a student and/or was not planning to pay rent for the second semester. A release from lease obligations or lease takeover was never discussed. All correspondence and important dates have been documented below.
The account was sent to the *************** Systems collection agency on 7/19/2022 for a total of $3,042.45 and has not been collected. If this is inaccurate, please contact the *** directly.
    Thank you,
    Walk2Campus

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
The lease agreement that sent was sent to NCS, is not the correct lease; if you are operating under law, then you would know that laws in ******** with Landlord/Tenant act REQUIRE a court order for any monies owed under a lease agreement. The office was notified of the move out, in writing, as often times the young lady was not physically present.
Provide the lease that includes the flatmates that lived there at the location of the time of his tenancy. Provide the Warrant in debt and affiliated court documents filed in *********** VA, please include the move in and move out inspection reports.
The lease you keep sending is not the lease, those 2 individuals listed never lived there. That invalidates the contract and lease.
I have contacted NCS directly, and I am exercising my rights afforded under the law. And contacting the original creditor is one of them. Asking for specific documents.
NCS is also providing information for their attorney of record *********************** of ************************* Law Firm, hes not licensed to practice law. Also a violation.
