    Requested Resolution: Refund of $11,000

    Timeline of Problems

July 2024 – Ductwork Replacement ($14,000): Promised to fix condensation issues, but the same problem returned within months.

May 2025 – System Failure & Replacement ($22,000+): My system failed catastrophically. Despite reporting urgency, service was delayed, and my family of five went an entire weekend without cooling. A temporary system was promised but never delivered.

May 21, 2025 – New System Installed: The unit failed within 24 hours due to a defective board. I was told it would “run fine” until replacement, but it did not, forcing me to leave a family trip to protect pets in an overheated home.

    Ongoing Issues (May–Sept 2025):

Defective or missing parts discovered during maintenance.

Coils already dirty on a system less than 5 months old.

Failed gas line test, left open.

$1,800 upsell for airflow improvements immediately after $14,000 ductwork replacement.

Warranty paperwork repeatedly promised but never provided.

    Broken Promises

Blanton’s explicitly committed in writing to “make things right” (see attached Commitment to Making Things Right email). Despite these assurances, problems remain unresolved, communication is poor, and no compensation has been provided beyond verbal assurances.

    Requested Resolution

Due to repeated failures, mismanagement, and unkept promises, I am requesting a refund of $11,000. This reflects the fact that major issues remain unresolved, prior work has proven ineffective, and the company has not honored its written commitments.

Blanton’s technicians have generally been professional, but management and customer service have failed to deliver accountability, reliability, or the quality expected for such a significant financial investment.

I spoke to consumer affairs, and he mentioned that 7,500 is the limit for small claims court which is probably why that was the offer amount. Seems like a bad business practice to me IMO, but just sending along.

Adding on to the complaint due to out-of-pocket medical cost now

Due to the ongoing unresolved issues with Blanton & Sons and the continued lack of follow-through, this situation has caused significant stress and disruption in my daily life. My primary care physician has documented the impact on my mental health and has recently adjusted my prescribed medication and treatment plan. I am also seeking professional counseling to help manage the stress caused by this experience. I’m sharing this information to underscore the seriousness of how this matter has affected me and my family, and the importance of reaching a fair and timely resolution.

    Good Morning Daniel

Unsure how this impacts the BBB complaint, but I've retained legal services, and a demand letter will be going out today with an expected reply date of 10/20.

Thank you for trying, probably not going to look good for them if we take them to court.

BBB is unable to locate the business.
Blanton and Sons came to our house to recommend hvac options for our homes layout and personal needs. We paid $14k for a system based on their recommendations. However, since the install in 2021 we’ve had to contact them over 20 times for maintenance issues and broken parts. Their previous findings showed the system was operating as it should, however a few months ago they’re now saying our duct work doesn’t suffice for the size of the system and we now need to pay $8k to fix the ductwork. We’ve asked for them to cover all the expenses or at least half, yet they refuse.
