The owner, Maggie B, of this dealership uses the power she has of disabling the car via gps and starter disrupter for reasons not stated in the contract. She disabled my car today 3-27-24, a day before my payment was due, the 28th of each month, plus I am current on my payments. I had two mechanics check my car and confirm that the car should be cranking and puts the problem down to the gps disruptor system. I am the caretaker of my 84 year old father and stroke victim and she, Maggie is well aware of this yet she is claiming that she has not disrupted/dis-abled the car. I was able to record her saying that there is no starter disrupter on the car, but I do have the paperwork attached that I signed acknowledging that it is.

    Business Response

    Date: 03/29/2024

    Dear BBB,

This is in response to Complaint ID # *********  ****** ******* called on 3/27 angrily stating
that his car note had been due that day and we disabled his car. He was angry, belligerent,
and condescending. Although I could barely get a word in, I tried to tell him
    (1) his car note was not even due till the following day March 28, 2024 (2)
that we had postponed it several days per his request and (3) that we do not
    use starter interrupt technology.  He
refused to hear this and continued saying that I cut his car off. Well, that is
simply impossible as we only use GPS units for location services, and we do not
use starter interrupts. His comes across as very threatening, scary, and
unstable.   His car not starting had nothing to do with
his payment and we did not use a starter disconnect to cut it off.
He has presented an attachment titled “GPS- Starter
Disrupter”. This disproves his point. About a third of the way down the page
there are three boxes where you check if the vehicle is equipped with
    GPS System
    Starter – Interrupt System
GPS System and Starter Interrupt System
     On this page in his
contract ONLY THE BOX NEXT TO THE “GPS System” is checked because that is the
    only system in his vehicle.

Unfortunately, Mr. ****** has a misunderstanding of the
situation. The gravity of this situation is much greater than his
misunderstanding at this point, however. At one point, he falsely accused the
dealership of selling him a different year car than the 2015 Impala that we
sold him, his behavior and treatment of me became so scary that I had to get
the DMV regulator involved so that she could verify that we had in fact sold
him a 2015 Impala. He did not have to be threatening then either, he could have
called the Chevy dealership with the Vin and confirmed the year instead of behaving
in that manner.  Now, he is again
harassing and threatening to the point where we had to close the business this
morning so that someone else could be here in case, he became a physical
    threat.  This afternoon he continued
harassing me to the point where I felt so unsafe that I filed a police report.

Attached I have a statement from someone familiar with GPS
units and our recovery process, and the same GPS disclosure Mr. ******* included
but I have highlighted the section where it indicates we only use GPS systems
and that we DO NOT USE starter interrupt systems.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions
or need any more information. It is my hope that Mr. ******* will treat
everyone at the dealership with the respect we have shown him even when he has
    already acted so egregiously.
