On the date of June 18th 2025 around 7:00 a.m. my car was parked at 1830 magwood located in Charleston South Carolina 29414 Park in a normal parking space with tag for registration. At about 7:30 I went to go to my car and found it to be getting towed off by the company CBR towing immediately I located the company on the internet gave them a call and the clerk explained to me that they do have my vehicle and it would be $211 to get out. I asked him what was the tote for they replied to me and it was for the apartment complex violation but they didn't give me a detailed of the violation. I contacted my local police department had to make a police report , I was informed by the local police department that I was told to get a 24-hour notice as well as a update on what had changed as far as the parking policy or why my car was towed from the actual apartment complex. So I went to cbr's towing to pay $211 to get my vehicle back now I'm in pursuit to the apartment complex to see who is going to reimburse me my $211 for a tow that was not right.

On May 15, 2025, around 5:00 AM, my vehicle was towed by CBR Towing LLC. I went to retrieve my vehicle the following day, but I was charged an additional $40. According to the company, it had been over 24 hours, which was not true.

I am a disabled, blind woman living on a fixed income and had to rely on my daughter for assistance. She was the one who noticed that my vehicle had been damaged. When I contacted CBR Towing to ask for help with repairing the damage, I was told it was not their responsibility.

Additionally, I was informed that my vehicle was towed due to an issue with the sticker on my license plate. However, my registration and all documentation were completely up to date.

I feel that I am being unfairly taken advantage of due to my disability and financial situation. I am respectfully requesting that the damage to my vehicle be acknowledged and resolved, and that the unjust $40 charge be addressed.

On 4/4/25 my car was towed from a parking lot. I was parked to the right of a white sedan. The tow company brought my car back to the parking lot to release it to me. They took a picture of my license and my daughter paid $290 to get the car released. When they lowered car, I noticed a white paint scrape on the driver's side bumper. I notified the driver. He advised me to call his boss because his boss always takes pictures during the tow process. We called immediately and were advised that he went home for the day. We left a message on 4/4 & 4/9. On 4/10 my daughter spoke with Ron over the phone. He advised that he only shares photos for court purposes and refused to share the photos. He also stated that I signed a release stating that I was receiving my vehicle back in the same condition.' I never signed anything. I halted the driver begore he left the parking lot, advising him of the damage and took a video with his vehicle still present to document the damage that I do not believe was there before my car was towed.

    To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to formally complain about the repeated distress and financial burden caused by Jaunt Apartments and CBR Towing. This is the second time my vehicle has been towed from Jaunt Apartments, and both incidents were handled unprofessionally.

In the first incident, following harassment and a personal safety decision—which I reported to management—my vehicle was towed without notice, even though my license was registered. When I went to retrieve it, CBR Towing was absent, leaving me, a 23-year-old woman, stranded at 8:00 PM with a dead phone. This experience was traumatic.

The second incident occurred on 2/28/2025 After work around 8:00 PM, I parked in a dirt space behind the buildings—a space regularly used by residents with no signs or warnings. I had confirmation from management that parking near my unit was allowed if I notified them via email.

The next morning at 7:00 AM, I found my vehicle missing. Believing it might have been stolen, I called CBR Towing in desperation. Their representative responded rudely, sarcastically asking, “Why did you park in the grass?” even though I was in a commonly used area. When I inquired if management had ordered the tow—given my prior harassment and a police report—he refused to provide a clear answer and abruptly ended the call. I was later told I could only retrieve my car at 9:00 AM for a fee of $210 after multiple calls.

Moreover, the following day I saw another vehicle parked in that exact dirt space all day, confirmed by photographic evidence. This inconsistency raises serious concerns about the fairness of their towing practices.

I request reimbursement of the $520 fee, a review of Jaunt Apartments’ parking policies, and an investigation into CBR Towing’s conduct. Thank you for your prompt attention.

Cbr towing towed my car, never updated it in the Charlston county tow system to the point I had to call and report my car stolen they said that they towed my car because my new decal had not arrived in the mail yet and I would have to have a receipt posted in my front windshield. But all receipts for car taxes are sent through email and not everyone has a printer nor was I notified by my front desk that this has to be done in order for me to not have my car towed. I brought my receipt for the payment to their office and still had to pay 185$ to get my vehicle back. They won’t take a debit card but will take cash app? Sounds like a full scam company to me.

I had just completed a long 15-hour drive to Charleston, SC Monday evening, 12/9/24, from Chicago to move my daughter out of her College of Charleston apartment. I parked my rental SUV in a lot next to a business I was picking up an order from. There was NOT a 'No Parking' sign where I entered the lot. I was in the business no more than 5 minutes. CBR must have hooked up my car as soon as I entered the business. I was charged an exorbitant $201! Very predatory! From other reviews on Yelp (see attached), this is standard operating procedure for CBR Towing. PLEASE HELP ME OBTAIN A REFUND! City of Charleston officials should be alerted of CBR Towing's shady practices. What an awful welcome I received from Charleston with this awful incident. :'(

On Sunday September 24th as we were packing our house and moving with helpers in White Gables Subdivision and while we went back in to the house for more items to pack the cars a tow truck pulled up and hooked my grandsons SUV. The suv was not blocking anything and there was room for other cars to drive by. He had only been in that spot for less than an hour. We tried to tell the the tow driver that we are only loading the cars and than moving. he said he didn't care that the car was not in the bump out which in my area there's only room for 2 cars. He demanded $250.00 in cash to be paid for him to remove the car off the lift. He said the HOA hires their company to tow. Our neighbor who's a sheriff came out of his home and even told the guy that this was city property and not owned by the HOA. He said it wasn't his problem and still demanded the $250.00 which my grandson paid. I tried calling these people and they told me that it's not their problem it's mine. I tried talking with the HOA about the matter and they said if it was blocking the road it can be towed. IT wasn't blocking anything. There was nowhere to park to load cars for moving. I want my grandson's money back that I think he was pressured into paying and intimated. Especially because they demanded cash which should be illegal.

I was at food lion the grocery store on King st in Charleston SC. The store security guard told me I could pull and park close to the door due to my health issues. I went in the store for a couple minutes and a driver at cbr towing towed me. A man outside told me it was them, I called them and theym guy was sitting around the corner with my vehicle pulled back up. The store security guard told him he allowed me to park there and the driver would not give me back my vehicle. He maid me pay him $200 to put my vehicle back down on the ground even though the store verified they allowed me to park there.
