We hired Jeffrey B******, Southern Charm Improvements, to finish our screened-in porch to make a sun room on 2/2/2024. At that time, he explained he was a small business struggling to make ends meet and needed us to pay for the windows upfront. He claimed that he is Christian and he thanked God for our patronage. He would then collect the fee to install them when the windows arrived. We made the mistake of trusting him and paid him $4,200. He provided a receipt. That was the last time we saw him (nearly 6 months ago). We have tried to contact him several times and he has ghosted us. He went to our local bank and cashed the check the same day. I have since filed a police report. This guy is nothing but a scam artist.

It's just a matter of time before he gets caught!

I hired Jeff Britner to remodel my condo kitchen with stock cabinets from Lowe's and a quartz countertop on 12/20/23. It was to be done on one week. They still are not done. Half of the time they never even show up to work. I am living all these weeks unable to settle into my kitchen, no whole countertop of old material. Big pieces missing completely. Every day is another reason they can't work and usually Lowe's fault not having needed or ordered materials, which I do not believe. I have given him all monies he asked for without delay and to date is over $10,000. I have threatened to go to police or court as I feel he is taking advantage of a recently widowed senior citizen. I have accused him of running a con game on me. He denies it shows up a couple of days for a few hours and then delay, delay, delay. Can you help me?
He was very good about cleaning up a black mold problem he found which I paid an additional $1750 for immediately.

I was the first to hire this company. My 98 year old mom just got out of the hospital with broken hip and so we needed a disability shower and decided to do kitchen and freshen up some walls. I hired them on 7-11 2023. The job is still not done. He kept asking me to forward him cash to the tune of 6200 dollars which I have documents I have paid in full.
He borrowed 20 dollars for gas last week and is now blocking my text.
I have over 30 text of promise after promise. Talk about taking advantage.
This man is not to be trusted.

Last time I saw him he asked me to lend him 3000. dollars . I told him no . I have paid him in full. Is there a fax number to send documents to ? Plus I have every text he sent. He has kept me waiting 4 months but has promised it would be finished immediately . Not once did he spend more than 2 hours here. I tried to maintain a connection but he got all his money and ghosted me.

I spoke with the business today. And he says he is donating his time. Why did nothing get finished? His workers broke the pipes in the shower when trying to use brute force to remove tub. And fixing that was his workers fault who used our best towels and carpet, threw them in the garage,, where I found them a week later. Ruined. He gave me a price. I accepted , But he keeps saying he will be donating his time. We have a signed agreement. And if I knew how to send you text you would see a constant stream of false promises

I googled companies that install eze breeze windows. Southern Charm Home Improvements came up. I emailed them and Jeffrey Briner called. We set an appt date. He came and gave me a quote of approx $5,000 to buy the windows and install them. I agreed. I wrote him a check for $3978.39. He gave me an install date and that didn’t happen. I texted him. He said he was in a car accident with his truck, which had the windows on it. He thought maybe a few or none were damaged. After not hearing from him, I texted him, He stated that all the windows were ruined and could I help him out by purchasing another set, that he was hard pressed for money and he and his co workers would pay half and I pay half. I said no I would not agree to that. Each text convo involves me texting him, him texting he will call back and never does. This contract started June 15, 2023. After waiting many days to hear back, I text him, he says no problem, another set of windows are ordered. Wishy washy about when they will come in. He continually sets dates to do the install, then never calls or texts that he is coming. Again time passes. I text him. He states he has to re measure the porch, that perhaps one side is uneven and wants to make sure he has the correct size windows. Time passes. Don’t hear from him. I text him. He texts back that he ordered more support metal and needed half the money from me and he would pay the other half. He wanted $1700.00 this time. I said no. I said you were coming the following Monday to do the install and that we would talk face to face while he is working. That’s when he continually would not answer my calls or texts on August 27, 2023, Sunday. After an entire day of trying to reach him, he blocked me. It is now August 28. He had already ripped out the existing screens and screen door. I am left with a screen less porch and $3900.00 less
