On Oct. 1, 2024 I ordered a 13 week subscription for $76.24 which I paid to start delivery on Oct.3, 2024. However, on the 3rd it didn't come and I called and they brought one, then on the 4th the same but they didn't bring me one, then on the 5th the same and they brought one and now even with calling I have not received and delivery . The issue involves monthly charges for newspaper delivery. The charges have escalated to the point where the monthly fee far exceed the newsstand cost of less than a $100 monthly. I have asked for an explanation but only got a generic answer about costs going up. I wanted to get a breakdown of the fee including if I was being charged for the online version of the paper. If so, I never asked for it. In the past the online edition was included free with a paid delivery subscription. My requests for the details have been ignored. If I am being charged an additional fee for what they call the * *dition I want to be refunded for any such charges. I also what to know how they can charge me 30% higher than the newsstand price. If they added a delivery charge which was not done in the past I want to know.Initial Complaint

In October I canceled my subscription the Sun News in ************ ** however the charged me for another month. I called and emailed that I expected a refund and the subscription to be canceled again. I was argued with other the phone, repeatedly asked not to cancel, etc. Then I received a notification that they were trying to bill me a second month so I emailed them again. I finally reached someone over the phone and they agreed to cancel the subscription yet today I received a bill for $5 threatening to send it to a collection agency.Initial Complaint

I canceled my subscription to the Sun News service based on terrible customer service response and irregular billing. I am being harassed by the customer service team by phone at least 4-5 times a day. Allegedly the phone calls are recorded so I should be on record asking them not to call me anymore. We have subscribed to the Sun New in ************ as our newspaper delivery service.On 3/12/2023 we paid $154.98 continuation for home delivery of the paper from March 18th on.Since March 18th we have not received a paper delivery and the business has no physical address and no phone number in the US that is answered by any direct employee of this business. After many phone calls and emails that seem to go into a black hole, we tried to go to their office - to no avail. All they publish is a PO Box at a *** site and the **** 38th Ave address is fictious. No response from the customer service **** either.A ******** post again sent us just another automated system.I am filing a complaint with **** to recoup my losses. I called and canceled my subscription on December 28, 2022. I was told the subscription would end after the current period had expired. On January 14, 2023, they charged my credit card on file $25.96 and extended by subscription contrary to my instruction. I called customer service on January 23, 2023, asking for a credit for that charge. I was told it would be issued in **** days. That period passed without a credit so I emailed customer service. I received a return reply advising my credit would be issued. I never received that credit. Today, March 10, 2023, two and a half months after canceling my subscription my credit card is being charged $25.96 yet again. This business has a total disregard for subscribers' interests and they are quite deceptive and untruthful.Business Response

The Sun News charged my bank account $99.99. I sent their customer service an email requesting a refund as I did not approve the charge. Their response to me was that my account auto renewed. I went through this last year with an auto renewal from them and accepted what they told me which was that they were setting my cancelation date for the end of the one year term. They are saying the same thing this year and refusing to refund my money. The generic response they sent me also states the account could be automatically renewed even though they are stating the account is set to cancel. I tried talking to a person within the Sun News and finally when I was able to speak to a supervisor (****) I was told there is no way I could be refunded. At that time I told ********** would continue this dispute through The Better Business Bureau. There was no advance communication from the Sun News about an auto renewal prior to charging me. This charged should not have taken placed based on the assurance that my account was cancelled last year. Please refund me $99.99.Thank you,*******************Business Response

This company is running a SCAM and should be put out of business! I ordered 2 subscriptions with them and they never sent me a paper: ***XXXXXXXX AND ***XXXXXXXX. The paper was for my elderly sister who does not read the Internet. The first subscription (***XXXXXXXX) was ordered November 2021, almost a year ago. I called every month to ask when the paper was coming and all they did was credit my account and tell me that it was a driver issue and it would come the next Sunday. It never came. Month after month I called them. Finally, I decided to order another subscription- ***XXXXXXXX for $191.99, hoping that I would have better success since it would come to a different address. The same thing happened again. They took my money and the paper never came. Each time I called, they said the same thing. Finally I asked to cancel them both and they said they couldn't. That they would refund the one for $191.99 and keep the one for $29,.00 open and I would start receiving papers under that account. I never received any papers nor the refund. When I question them bout it, they said they had sent the refund to my credit card ending in ***** This credit card had been closed for months, so I never received it. I asked for a paper check as I had before. I never received it. I called them today, October 31st, and they told me that they couldn't discuss that account with me because I owed $4,99. How the **** did I owe money when all I had done was give them money and never got anything in return? I asked for a supervisor and he told me it was too late to talk to a supervisor. It was3:56 and they closed at 4:00. I am so disgusted with these people. Why are they allowed to rip people off like this? I am out $221.00 and never received one paper. I contacted ** ******** and apologized for the mishandling of her initial complaints as she had (2) accounts with The Sun News that experienced no delivery service. Acct#XXXXXXXX is closed and we will refund an additional $34.50 that is owed which will process back to the Visa card where the inital payment of $191.99 was made. I acknowledged we are having delivery issues but working on getting service restored and *.******** agreed to give us a couple of weeks to see if her sister's active acct#XXXXXXXX will start again. I credited the account $29.00 plus 2 weeks additional credit and *.******** has my contact information to reach out to me in the event poor service continues. I reached out to the distributor in Myrtle Beach to flag this address for delivery to her sister's home on ******** **** ******* *** and should poor service prevail, we will process a refund for $29.00.

I explained the additional refund for $34.50 will process back to the credit card initally charged and to equal the full refund amount of $191.99. RECEIVED A STATEMENT FROM SUN NEWS SAYING MY SUBSCRIPTION EXPIRED ON AUG 17. Balance of $30.81 was removed from the account and phone message was left on 9/15/22 with apologies for the misunderstanding. It was explained why the renewal was shortened due to the billing fees for the weekly .39 supply chain surcharges which started on 5/11/22 along with (2) print bill fees imposed for $8.98. Because of these fees the renewal was shortened. The balance accrued on the account as it remained active from the renewal date of 8/14/22 to 9/1/22 as deliveries were received for the Wednesday and Sunday newspapers. We are sorry for the misunderstanding.
