This business owner is very unprofessional. She is hateful to clients and forcefully, in-your-face nasty. She accosted me as I was attempting to leave a public building earlier than she wanted me to leave (by 12 minutes) at a vendor event. I was a vendor. I paid for my spot. I should be able to leave when I am ready to leave as long as I do not disrupt others that are there. She was physically blocking the door and refusing to allow me and other vendors to leave when we wished to do so. This woman - **** S - is a shrew.

I will never participate in another event she is over and will be sure I let all my vendor friends know just how nasty she is to vendors. No more ***************************** for me and mine.

In Response to the Complaint from Crystal H:
The Dickens Christmas Show and Festivals has been doing business for over 41 years in Myrtle Beach. The Parent Company, Leisure Time Unlimited, has been in business for over 48 years.
The Myrtle Beach Convention Center offers 30 doors to exit from when attending the Dickens Christmas Show and Festivals. However, we do monitor 2 sets of doors that lead to the Dock area. The Dock Access doors are not available until after 6pm due to safety reasons. Carts are a liability and are not allowed on the Show Floor until after 6pm. We have 1000s of people shopping on our show floor at any given time. Trying to maneuver a moving cart, through 1000s of guests, while children are playing on carpet, can cause major safety issues. For these safety reasons, the dock doors are guarded to ensure that Vendors cannot bring in or take out carts prior to the end of the Show. But under no circumstances is anyone required to stay. The only request is that they cannot go out or in the Dock Doors until after the show has ended. And all of this is explained in the Contract that they sign to be in the Show.
    Below is the Term mentioned:
    13. BREAKDOWN: Sunday, November 13, 2022, AFTER 6:00 PM is Move-Out Time. Any exhibitor who breaks down early without written permission from the Show Manager will be subject to a $300 fine and will not be allowed in future shows until fines are paid.
Safety is our first priority for the General Public and our Vendors! Therefore, all Vendors are Contracted to stay in their booth with their carts until after 6pm until we can get the General Public off the Show Floor.
Once to Ms. H was reminded of the Terms and Conditions, she did precede to exit out of a Door located 8 feet away from the original dock door she was trying to exit.

In Response to ************* comments, I would like to clarify a few things. There are multiple doors in the exhibit hall. Each set of doors has a door sitter for safety reasons. Per the City's Fire Codes, we must have regular exits and emergency exits, open at all times during the show hours. The Fire Marshall inspects the Show prior to its opening. We would never have been able to open if we had no exits as she claims. During the show hours, anyone can exit near the entrance or the 2 exits in the back of Hall C. (And yes, we have a door sitter at all doors for safety reasons.) The doors to the Dock where the ramp is in Hall C. That is where people bring in their carts. NO Carts are allowed to be brought in the building while the public is inside for Safety reasons. Carts and the public, especially with children running around, do not mix well. Exiting or entering one of these Dock doors is not allowed during the show with carts. There is a Passenger door open, 10 feet away that many go out to go smoke. In addition, the Fire Department, and the Police Department, both have booths at the Show for their Charities with Fire and Police Officers watching everything that going on the entire show.
We had many Vendors that had a great show. We already have 10 Booths sold for next year and they reached out to us. (We have not started marketing for next year yet.) When you are dealing with the public, we realize that you are not going to please everyone. With that being said, we do not guarantee sales when you purchase your booth. We have many Vendors that make lots of money, but you do sometimes have Vendors that do not make the money they hoped for. In which case, we do apologize for that but that is something we cannot control.
The Show does not control the Parking, it is run by the City of Myrtle Beach. It is documented under the General Show Information on the Website, letting the Vendors know there is a fee for parking before they buy a booth. In addition, during Vendor show set up, the Myrtle Beach Convention Center offers for sale, when they first come in, a discounted Parking Pass for all Vendors. If they wish to take advantage of the discounted parking.
We were just named one of the top 200 Events for 2022 by Sunshine Artist Magazine. We are also in the top 4 for Classic and Contemporary Trade Shows in the United States. (THE VENDORS ARE THE ONES THAT VOTE FOR THIS HONOR.)
We apologize for any misunderstanding this may have caused. But our #1 Priority is the safety of our attendees and all the other Vendors, Charities and Staff. Thank you and Happy Holidays!

Ms. S could have used another manner other than literally running up to me as I was feet away from the dock door, leaning down into my face and wagging her finger in my face repeatedly saying "you signed a contract" over and over instead of offering other solutions or any reasoning. Or making ANY other statement to me and the others who were attempting to exit. I was reminded of the terms and conditions. We are literally talking about 12 minutes. TWELVE. While I do realize I left early, I did not disrupt a single person. There were NO SHOPPERS LEFT in the facility - or I passed none on my way to the exit. Had I, I would have gladly waited. I was also not the first to leave early.... some vendors left the previous day. I also did not ask for any refund of my expensive vendor entry fee which came with reassurances of buyers actually buying items, the parking fee, or for any refund from the required costume money paid as I exited the building. Again, this should have been handled differently. And - just as another FYI to anyone who may or may not read this - ALL the door areas had "door sitters" at them. Not one exit area was completely clear to exit. NOT ONE.
