      I own a 2008 Ford Edge that was purchased new and has had all if its maintenance performed at the dealership. The vehicle looks and ran like new until I was advised by my local Auto zone representative to use Blue Devil Oil Stop product for a minor oil leak I was experiencing. After putting the product in and following the instructions I attempted to drive the vehicle. The motor locked up resulting in the vehicle having to be towed to the dealership where it is still sitting. We await Auto Zone taking responsibility for pushing this product as a win for us that has now resulted in the need for a replacement motor and a 6k bill to do so. Auto zone continues to give us the run around. This product is destroying vehicles and lives!

      In Dec 2021 I purchased a bottle of BlueDevil Pour N Go Coolant Stop Leak. I paid 31.94 after tax. Receipt attached. I had a coolant leak, I thought it could be somewhere in my heater core or pipes connecting to the head. The bottle advertises that it is for ALL cooling system leaks and is safe for use with all cooling system components. I followed the all of label instructions. The system was already clean and free of clogs... as the coolant was still relatively new with less than 10k miles on it since install. this product clogged my system up bad, and failed the water pump and my head gasket eventually blew. I can no longer prove this blew my head gasket. But I still have pics show the clogging that occurred and proof I had to remove the water pump which failed due to the product. Vehicle failed the day after install of BlueDevil product. Why didnt I report it to BBB sooner? I was unaware of BBB. I Called the tech support number on the bottle the day of the incident though, and was met with a very unfriendly receptionist whose name I forgot. He insisted that it was my fault because I turned the car off before making sure all the air pockets i would have introduced by opening the radiator, were out of the system. He said that is why the product hardened and clogged my system. There is no warning of this on the label.. This product is marketed for leaking systems, which means that inherently, the system will have "air pockets" in it. Debate with the representative yielded nothing. He kept repeating his double standard about "air pockets". He said I could submit the office receipts after repair, but he didnt think it was the product's fault. I hung up. But I never forgot, It always bothered me. After the head gasket blew because of their product, I repaired everything myself and wrote it off. I want this complaint here to show BlueDevil's business practice and ethos- deceptive advertising, dangerous product, and double standard / backwards customer service.
