Took my truck in for a check engine light. Vehicle is under factory warranty and bought the extended warranty which with the extended warranty, I was told, bumper to bumper, it'll pay everything. Was told after a 3.5 hour wait it was not covered under the warranty, either of them. then told that will be 185.49 for them to tell me it may be a crushed wire, but the crushed wire would have to be fixed before the rest of the system could be checked. Bill came to 205.69, thought it was 185, oh for shop supplies, what shop supplies, just for them to tell me a crushed wire needed to be repaired before the system could be fully tested. Asked how the wire became crushed, could not answer other than it was my fault, must of hit something. Told them I did not hit anything. Then told I would need to bring hot back to repair wire and continue to check system, stopped them there and told them I would not bring my vehicle to them again for this since it was not covered under warranty which I think it should of been,

We have been in contact with Mr. Gerald *****. I agreed to refund his Diag fee and explained the warranty details with him.  He seemed to be completely satisfied and understands his warranty coverage.

    Thank you

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Sterling Chevrolet did reach out to me today, 4-1 in reference to our dispute. They have agreed to repay me what was charged previously stating they have no way to make a third party warranty company pay. Though it was not explained when I purchased the vehicle warranty of the third party, I’m sure had I read the fine print, it was there, lesson learned. I had vehicle repaired elsewhere and I am happy with the outcome in getting my initial money back. I do hope they will be more forthcoming with the warranty information when others purchase a vehicle there, it third party and not bumper to bumper.  Thank you very much for your assistance.

    Sincerely,
    Gerald K

On 08/25-2022 I ordered a vehicle from Starling Chevrolet.
The vehicle was delivered and the deposit kept by the seller.
A dozen of visits and email later and I never got reimbursed.

Two new contracts were signed, one in 2023 and another in March 2024. Thus, a year has not passed since the event occurred. After the first contract, Starling claimed it was a factory mistake and requested an update to the purchase, but since then, there has been no further action.

They are refusing to refund my $2,000 deposit after the vehicle showed and was not as described by the dealership. The truck had been smoked in and I was not told this. Also the Truck had a ticking noise coming from the motor that made me feel very uneasy as the engine sputtered when it started.
After looking at the truck I requested to refund my money so we could look for another truck and they agreed to do so the next morning because the person with the power to do so, was not at the dealership. I called this morning and now they are trying to tell me they are not refunding the deposit after I had already been told they would refund it yesterday. I did not sign anything to legally bind me to this vehicle.
