I have not been able to make a payment on my car since November. My car was repossessed last Thursday (2/8), which is beyond fair and I understand the reasoning. I called Thursday and was told it would be $1085 to get my car back. I called this morning (2/13) after taking out some loans and was then told that was not the case and that Id actually be charged $12,877 to get the car back. I appealed the decision and they claimed they requested for me to just be able to pay the past due amount, but that it was denied. When they called me back to tell me this, they changed the payoff amount to $12,590. Albeit lower, Im just not understanding how the amount keeps changing and Im being told that I was not promised a rate of $1085.

The debt with Founders Federal Credit Union was paid in full and I am continuing to get marks on my credit score because of it. I do not consent to the debt owed and I find the total to be inaccurate. I request the debt and marks on my credit to be removed.

Founders has a hardship program that they don't promote but it is there to help people in my situation, however; I didn't qualify for it because I didn't know when I would be returning back to work. September, I finally started back working after being without a job for 4 months, still made payments on my loans as best as I could, whilst maintaining my other bills. I started working on 9/11/2023 and received my first paycheck on 9/29. I had spoken with *********, who is a lead in Loss Control, and we set up an arrangement on my auto loan for $445. Prior to use setting up the arrangement my checking account was overdrawn by $55.47. She and I agreed to set up the arrangement for 9/29 in the amount of $445. My account didn't have any holds on it whatsoever, other than it being overdrawn. On 9/25 I went to the bank and deposited a check in the amount of $200 and the teller had to reach out to Loss Control to verify the arrangement that ********* and I had set up. Once confirmed the teller deposited the check and I had an available balance of $147. I looked at my account and seen that it was overdrawn by $752, and the memo said funds hold. So, I then contacted the bank and directed to ********* in Loss Control, who at that point was very rude and unprofessional when I asked why was there an Funds hold on my account and could that be released being that she and I had already spoken days prior to set up an arrangement, she rudely told me no, so i then in return stated that I had no other choice but to reach out to my HR department to get my direct deposit stopped because I knew I had to pay the $445 that we agreed on and I had to pay for a place to stay. Once speaking with my HR department and learning that it was too late to stop my direct deposit from going into my account, I just left the situation alone and faced the fact that I wouldn't be able to move, and that half of my check would be taken because of the funds hold that was placed. I didn't have enough money to pay the $445 on top of the $752 that was being taken out, so I stated that I would just pay the $445 on my next paycheck on 10/13. On 10/4 I tried to use my debit card to pay for an application fee for an apartment and my card declined. I was confused because I knew that I had money in my account. I checked my online banking and seen that both, my checking account and my minor daughter's savings account was overdrawn. My checking account was overdrawn by $1109, and her savings account was overdrawn by $1655. I immediately reached out to Loss Control to see why and again I was placed on the line with *********, she was yet again very rude, unprofessional and overtalked me. She was very argumentative and combative and talked to me as if I wasn't human. She told me that I had enough money to pay for both, the $752 and $445 on 9/29 but I chose to pay other things, and for that my car is approved for repossession and that she isn't removing the holds off of neither of my accounts. There were two holds for the same amount $1655. One on my checking account and the other on my daughter's savings account. I explained to ********* yet again my situation and she still didn't care and was amendment about not removing the holds. I explained to her that my daughter receives court ordered child support payments and that her funds couldn't be held and that they are protected funds. She argued that they weren't child support payments and that my name is on the *** and that she could and would hold the funds and that it wasn't anything I could do about it. If it didn't say Government funds that she can and will hold them. I emailed ***************************** and ***********************. I did get a call back from the branch manager *************************, who was very helpful and supportive. She had gotten most of my issues resolved, but after banking hours I checked my account again, and the $255 in my daughter's savings account that was once available after speaking with ****** was once again on hold.

I am rejecting this response because:

My account was closed abruptly. I received no notification that my accounts would be closed due to a loan that had charged off that I thought was taken care of in full back in September. My daughters savings account which has state issued funds direct deposited into bi-weekly was even closed. Im currently going through a financial hardship, in which, *** tried a few times to apply for a financial hardship plan through founders which they denied because at the time I didnt know when Id be returning back to work. I was unemployed due to no fault of my own for five months and fell behind on all of my bills. I made founders aware of this. Im making payments towards my past due loans; however, this one particular loan I thought was paid in full whenever founders loss control had taken over $700 out of my account to take care of the express loan has caused my accounts to be closed. And this has left me with no money because they placed my funds on hold and restricted my debit card. I have no money for food, gas nor necessities for my daughter. I have scheduled direct deposit from my job coming in this coming Friday and now I wont be paid on time, and its the holidays. This has caused great stress for me and an embarrassment, as Im not able to take care of my child if anything is to happen because my money is gone, card is restricted and my accounts are closed.

Work with me with getting my accounts together and allow me to have access to my accounts

I have an auto loan with Founders. They have REPEATEDLY added auto insurance to my loan increasing my car payment, giving me late fees and making it late as a result, which in turn has given me bad credit reports because they just report the loan as late due to them adding extra monies to the loan which makes the payment unbearable. I have shown them reporting 5 different times that the car is insured with StateFarm and 6 different times theyve added insurance! I wait for the leter from them like clock work saying my car isnt insured and i need to ad adequate insurance the issue is, IT HAS INSURANCE AND FULL COVERAGE AT THAT. Ive had enough of going there with declaring pages over and over again. State Farm has told me over and over again Founders is the payee on the policy so i have no idea why they keep doing this! Adding their insurance increases the payments by almost $200 to the tune of $800 a month! Then the curent insurance on the car is $420 through StateFarm! Im and beyond upset and just fed up with this and tired of drowning in extra drama on my loan with issues that shouldnt be like this every few months or so, they have made owning this car a complete nightmare. They apologize, remove the insurance, then credit the money to my account (never returning the extra ive scracthed and clawed to get to pay the extra) then rinse and repeat in about 3 -4 months time! I do not have extra money to just pay for insurance TWICE for a vehicle and to keep showing proof that it is INSURED. Im tired of going back and forth, all while having to leave off my job to prove this car is insured! This is BEYOND RIDICULOUS! I cant take this anymore and something needs to be done about this.

After researching this complaint, we found that we had inadvertently added collateral protection insurance to this loan and are working towards a solution with our third-party provider. A refund has been initiated for this premium and a request to update the credit reporting for November has been submitted to the credit bureaus.

      Thanks!
