    Hi,hru
My problem is I had a new appointment with a new OBGYN at Lexington Women's Care, Irmo. When I made my appointment with the receptionist I explained to her my appointment is a preventive Health appointment. Which means the only test that's supposed to be done that day is a pap smear, a STD test, and one blood work of HIV that's it. I've been seeing the OBGYN for years never got a bill for $1,500 bill to my insurance company or a insurance company because I was told through my insurance company Molina I'm covered 100% under preventive care appointment depending on how the office will code and build my insurance. I get the bill and it has seven tests. From what I know all my life they can test the swab from the pap smear under microscope and you get everything done off that one swap and one office setting/ appointment. I had no idea they was taking my blood ,my swab to a hospital to be tested, for further analysis. Some of the tests include hepatitis C Etc I was told from the office manager Daphne that my doctor at the time Misty asked me was it okay to do extensive testing which is not true like I said all my life you can do those tests under microscope and get the results that same day except for the HIV test. I had no idea that they do not do any testing in ther office and they send all of their patient's testing to their Hospital Lexington Medical Center ...No clue. What I need and want to happen is..it's their mistake they're messed up,own it and recode my insurance the correct way as a preventive care appointment. Because that is all I ever came for.Now the office manager is making threats to put the bill on My credit. At the end I was hoping for compassion from the office to say hey I apologize we made a mistake we can fix this I want to do whatever it takes to make it right. I've got none of that at all.but just there office blaming me & they did absolutely nothing wrong.plz help me BBB it's been since March 6th 3 months ago. They're not even willing to pay half the bill off.at this point it's not right, but it would be fair

Patient had requested STD testing due to a possible exposure. She thought the testing would be performed in the office under a microscope. She wasn’t aware it went to the hospital for processing. Then she said that she thought it should have been covered under her annual. STD testing is not typically part of an annual and because she had an exposure, we can’t code it as a preventative code. It wasn’t denied by her insurance but it did go towards her co-insurance.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: that office  & doctor knew my appointment was a preventive care appointment, & the microscope she's referring to the pap smear swab she never mentioned to you about my blood which is only supposed to be a HIV test one test on my blood. Then she mentioned that I was diagnosed with a STD I would like to know what it is because as far as I know from there test results i didnt have a STD. it's the lies  for me at this point I want the situation resolved! That office/ doctor should own up to their mistakes and pay half the bill so we can move on that's what I want done but once again that office is not willing to do that they still want the patient fully responsible for the whole bill even though they coded the bill wrong ! they did that.

    Sincerely,
