      I used Ruth's House Event Rentals as a rental vendor for my wedding on October 20, 2022 at Hibernian Hall in Charleston, SC. My total order came to $3,564.36, a deposit of $1,701.27 paid on March 3, 2022 and a second payment of $1,863.09 paid on October 3, 2022.
      On my wedding day, Ruth's House Event Rentals were due to deliver items to the wedding venue at 10am EST. They delivered almost 2 hours late - I only had a 3 hour set-up window. They also delivered items that were horrible quality both aesthetically and structurally, which was a shock as Ruth's House had informed me (over the phone) that they had gotten new inventory and that I would be receiving the new items for my wedding. The gold chavari chairs were severly scraped and bruised with the wood showing through. The gold paint was peeling off of some of the chairs as well. After my wedding, I was mortified to learn that at least two of the chairs had broken when my guests sat down for the ceremony.

      The linens were incredibly see through and thin to the point where the tables were showing through underneath which looked incredibly dirty and unprofessional. My brother-in-law had to buy paper to line the table under the linens to try and salvage them

      Some of the cutlery had been delivered in muddy plastic bags and was incredibly worn with the gold coloring coming off. Though Ruth's House did deliver some alternate cutlery to rectify.

      Given some of the items Ruth's House delivered (bar, glassware, plates) were in sound condition, I am only requesting a partial refund. I have outlined below a detailed list of items in which I'd like to receive a refund due to faulty/structurally unsound product and/or additional costs associated with rectifying the product.

      $1,170 for 130 gold chaivari chairs
      $510 for all table linens
      $134. 40 tax on the linens and chairs at 8%
      $85. 21 for paper needed for tables to go under thin linen
      Total request for refund comes to $1,899.61

      This customer was present when the event rental items were delivered for the wedding and had a chance to inspect the items and could have refused the items. We certainly refute the representation that the event rental equipment that was  delivered was in bad repair as described by the customer. Here what has happened is the customer accepted the event rentals at delivery, used the items for the wedding and now is trying to be refunded on the basis of some outlandish complaints of all the items.  Our small business has been in operation for 17 years and unfortunately can not stay in business if customers like this one get to use our event rentals for their weddings and then try to come up with all kind of baseless complaints to get a refund. We performed our services between us and the customer as set forth in the contract and there is no basis for a refund related to this event from our company.
