We were convinced it was a good deal, and the salesman told us if the new timeshare wasn’t working out for us within a year's time, then we could come back, and they would refund any amount paid on it. This would be given back to us in a cash amount and return the equity from the previous timeshare and transfer us back to our original timeshare. We were also instructed to contact them if we ever decided to sell because they were the only ones that could give us the original amount back. Needless to say, this was all one BIG FAT LIE!!!! We tried to cancel the upgrade, the one we were talked into purchasing but was told the time expired to cancel.
We returned to ****** ***** **, where all this originated from, only to be laughed at in our faces. We told them we wanted to be transferred back to our original timeshare and informed them of the lies that were told to us about the cash refund, all equity returned to us, being restored to the original timeshare. In my opinion this case has not been resolved because we asked to be reinstated back to the original contract that we had with the elite group we wanted to go back from the palmera RCI points that would only allow us to go to *********** resorts. And we wanted to be reinstated back to the original contract which allowed us to thank our points to RCI to be able to travel to different areas at different times and this is not what happened we ended up turning the timeshare back to them with a $2,500 cancellation fee so in my opinion no this decision has not been resolved this is not satisfactory to me nor my husband.Business Response

Contrary to the Complainants apparent understanding, they agreed to have their ********************* membership cancelled, and further insisted that their Island Links ownership be transferred out of their names as well. In fact, the Complainant signed settlement agreements that accomplished both of these. Now they claim their intent was to only cancel the ********************* membership and maintain ownership of their Island Links unit. If that was their intent, then we are puzzled why they clearly signed a settlement agreement and a deed which transferred away the Island Links unit rather than contacting us at the time. Either this was done by mistake or theyve had a change of heart. Regardless, we can consult the Association and see if we can get the Island Links unit back into their names, though based on the signed agreement, there is no legal requirement for that to happen. The complainants would have to agree to pay all fees associated with that unit in full prior to any transfer.Customer Answer

Our initial intent was to have ******* transfer us back to our original contract with Island links, that contract was completely paid off until they joked is into upgrading to the Palmera contract! They were not willing to transfer us back so yes we did sign a settlement which costed us an extra $2500. We are not going to pay any more money to be transferred back to Island links ! This matter is resolved but not at our approval. I will also add that the ************************* pretty much almost a year later to even acknowledge this complaint and these 2 complaints have been ignored up in til this past week or so!!! This matter is resolved on our behalf but we are not happy with it!

Elite Resort Group doesn’t respond to my repeated requests for termination of our timeshare. We have health problems. We have been paying increasing “maintenance” fees while cleanliness isn’t guaranteed on the timeshare. I am the POA for my husband now. We are too frail to travel. If their marketing department can blast my email with spam all the time then someone has to be able to treat me like a human being. I’m asking for the Elite Resort Group to contact me! Hello,
I sent a email asking to give my timeshare back to Elite Resort Group. Not only did it take them well over 30 days to respond to this request, I was denied without an explanation. I have paid all of my dues to this company and do not owe any type of loan with them so I am unsure why they are not willing to let me give this back to them. Unfortunately, this timeshare is not the great investment that I was pressured into believing it was. It has now become a huge financial burden to me. The issue is the maintenance fees keep gradually increasing, which was never discussed with us. The personal financial hardship that I have experienced is the passing of my husband last year. My income has
drastically changed and is a fixed income now. I cannot continue to afford paying for the timeshare mortgage and maintenance fees, especially as they continue to go up. When reaching out to Elite Resort Group, they simply told me the Board of Directors denied my request and gave no reason as to why, even when I tried to ask. I just want this timeshare out of my name. It's paid off so I'm struggling to see what the problem is.Business Response

June 21, 2022 was the date of the contract it was for the timeshare or elite memership. #******. With 10,000 contract with 3000 dollars with drawing every 3 months then until rest is paid. After I signed up for it I wanted to cancel it right away I sent the email to them advising them I wanted to cancel it I sent them a email never got respond back then I came back to the state and I received email staying I needed to send a certified letter which I did then never got respond back. They kept saying they wanted to give me promotion I said no I wanted to cancel it and I disputed the charge because they never responded back to me then they threatened me int he email that they are taking to their legal department. I canceled it within 5 days I sent the certified letter right away when they asked me to and they didn't cancel it but said they inactivated my account. I want to report the scam that they are having. I want this contract to be canceled and get my money back. They took 2000 dollar from me and more to come .Business Response
