I had a very scary experience meeting Will L*******. He removed a stake that I had just paid my own highly rated surveyor to mark two days prior. The stake was on my property, that I own. Mr. L******* didn’t notify me, as the property owner, that anything was being removed from my property, or even ask if it was okay. When I went out back behind my home to see why this had been done, he quickly lost his temper, threw up his arms, started cursing while yelling that he’ll put back the stake he removed. He claimed that he had a right to remove it, even though it was on my property. He began yelling very quickly telling me to get back in my “f” ing house while leaning his body in towards me. In addition, the former project manager of the site confirmed that this is the surveyor that replaced the stake in the wrong spot, leaving significant more space on my property for the builder (who hired him) to use. The stake was inevitably moved back, but only after the builder was done with their grating job. I would not trust this hostile man to survey anything, or even allow him on my property. He does not know how to speak to people, he antagonizes, he’s disrespectful and he’s so entitled, that he doesn’t take responsibility or even simply apologizes when he wrongfully removes things from other people’s property. And placing a stake in the wrong spot because it is convenient for the people who pay them is incredibly unethical. There are plenty of trustworthy and reliable surveyors in the area that are kind and respectful, without creating conflicts or aggressive situations for people within the community. I used a wonderful surveyor in Greenville that has great rating and an amazing reputation.

Let's be quite clear about one thing. You are not our customer. So it's hardly relevant for you to leave a customer review. You of course are 'entitled' to your own opinion. You are extremely misunderstood about what's yours and what is merely a survey witness post. The wooden stake that you claim you paid for 2 days prior is a witness marker that my team placed when your lot was created. Witness markers help surveyors find property corners. That particular stake was on the property next to you, painted blue, with rope tied to it. I removed that stake to access your shared property pin with Lot 1 in order to properly place the silt fence without encroaching onto your property. Property owners share property corners, which are meant to be permanent markers placed at or below ground level. Stakes at corners are witness markers that surveyors use, place, and replace to find property corners. You have antagonized everyone working on this project from what I've been told and approached our team with an attitude before any of us responded to you. Every stake on the back of your property was placed by my team, and likely verified by your 'reputable' surveyor. Removal, or temporary removal of such stakes is common, and daily in our industry, in order to find the actual property corner. After our meeting I wouldn't expect you to redact any of your statements as you have the right to your opinion. Our clients however will have their own opinion of our work and our team members. We did not disturb any property corners during our visit. All witness markers were put back to reference each property corner. I'm sorry that you are misunderstood about these events.
