    The incident occurred in July of 2023. The exact date, to the best of my ability, was either 7/26/23 or 7/27/23. My partner and I were moving from Greenville, SC to California. We needed to sell our washer and dryer. I called this business to ask if they would buy them, explained the brand, condition, etc., and then they asked me how much I was looking to get for them. I said at least $300. They said okay and asked me to bring them in. Upon arriving after hauling the washer and dryer all the way out there, I was told I had to leave the units with them so they could “get a good look at ‘em” and that they would call and tell me how much they would pay me. I explained that I was moving to California in the next day or two and that I needed to complete the transaction that day, but they insisted, saying they would just mail me a check. I left the washer and dryer (which they likely resold for at least $300 each) and trusted that they would honor their word. They did not give me any receipt or documentation of any kind, just told me they’d call and mail me a check. Several days later, I received a call saying they could only give me $80 for both because they were “broken.” I knew this was not true as I had just used both of them the day I dropped them off. When I asked what exactly was wrong with them, they were rude and dismissive and refused to tell me. I settled for the $80, and they said they’d mail me a check. Several days later, I realized they never even asked for my name/address/information for the check, so I called back, and after some nasty, condescending remarks, they took down my information and said they’d mail the check. I have called every month since to ask where my money is, and they laugh at and degrade me every time and say they’ll send a check like it’s a joke, but they never do. I just want my money—preferably the $300 we discussed before I hauled the things all the way out there—and to prevent this from happening to anyone else. Thank you.
