I purchased a 2023 **** ******* from Toyota of Greenville on September 18, 2023. I traded a 2017 ******** *** *** with less than 90,000 miles ( In excellent condition)miles and gave them $47,538 as well . I asked for ****** *******, with light interior and either black blue or red exterior. I got a gray exterior black interior non-****** model. Four weeks later it had a complete electrical malfunction and was not drivable took them three days of troubleshooting to admit they not sure what the issue was, they even asked me if lightning struck the car. They claimed that the battery was throwing out too much power, and they could clear out the error messages, and it should “work again”, GM Michael O ***** assured me I could order another vehicle but it would take 50 days to come with the features I want it and then I could pay a $1200 difference. When the new vehicle got there, they brought me paperwork for an additional $4500. GM had the audacity to call me the next day and asked me what was the discrepancy I have currently tried to negotiate for my vehicle and filed a complaint with Toyota and contacted my attorney. These people are dishonest and I do not recommend anyone doing business with them without getting every sin*** thing in writing. I have been waiting two days for a car that they are trying to get more money than it is worth . There’s nothing, I hate more than a dishonest company that pretends to be honest! The worst part is I purchased the ******** from their sister Company next-door, so they do not appreciate repeat business as well!

I bought a Toyota Sienna 2.5 weeks back. At the time of the purchase, I also purchased an extended Bumper to Bumper Warranty. I was told that I could cancel it anytime. The paper work says that too. I emailed them, also called and left a voice message 3 times but have not heard back from them. It seems like that are not interested in helping me.

Toyota corporate put a regional offer on the internet for South Carolina offering a 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid, SUV SE Hybrid $319/month 36mo $3318 Lease offer. I have called 2 dealerships both in Greenville and in Greenwood. I am told that no dealerships want to participate in the deals that Toyota advertises. So why do they advertise? It's Fraud and Fishing. Please advise what can be done!! I called their corp offices who finally told me that it was up to me to contact every single dealership to see if they participated in this deal. I called two that showed on the website as offering this deal and they said they do not have these cars inventory and don't participate yet it was stated that they did. I would like to lease this car asap. I would like them to find me the dealership honoring this deal.

Hi i didnt mean to single out one dealership as all have been very cooperative. I believe my complaint should be addressed to the Toyota Corporate headquartes or whichever dept puts these ads on the internet.

I have gone to and called 5 different Toyots up here in SC  this was stated to be a regional offer for SC.   No dealership will honor Toyotas ad as its a losing proposition for them. They make 0 $ on i.    I have been denied this ads stiputlations at all the dealerships and of course there is no one to direct me to a dealership that will honor this ad.

The responsible party is the Toyota Administration.    Please advise. Thank you for your help as I believe these ads are just "Fishing" and are False.

Toyota of Greenville does not have one of the advertised models (Corolla Cross Hybrid, SUV SE).  However, we do have 3 XSE trim models coming in that we feel confident we can trade 1 of those units for an SE to accomplish the advertised lease payment of $319 per month!  We will be reaching out to you to discuss colors etc.  In the event we do not connect please reach out to New Car Sales Director Corey G****** at 864-******** or General Manager Mike O****** at 864-********.

Thank you for the opportunity and we look forward to earning your business!

Thank you for this last information

I will let the BBB know what happens.

      11/06/2023

      Dear Sirs,
I would like to advise BBB of the outcome of my complaint.
The original complaint was that Toyota advertised on the internet a lease offer for a Corolla Cross Hybrid, SUV which is what I desired.
The price was $319  monthly for a lease for 36 months.
I contacted Corey G****** the Sales director and went through Renee M*******, my sales agent there, and low and behold they
actually set up a car specially for me, after the BBB called and spoke to them about my complaint.
I brought it home Friday the 3rd of Nov.  Less than one month after sending a letter to BBB
      I am extremely happy.
I would like to thank BBB for intervening as I believe that is the reason that they did finally offer me the special lease price for a new car.
The team at Greenville, Toyota is great. They are friendly, effective, and efficient. They called me, I didn't have to go back and forth with them.
They could have eventually retailed the arrival of this car, at a low price for a while but it wasn't the case.
So thank you very much to everyone for the work on my behalf.

      Sincerely ***** ********

I bought a car in April from the used lot at Toyota of Greenville and was sold an additional warranty with the vehicle. I attempted to use the warranty and was told the warranty was not valid for the vehicle I had purchased and should not have been sold it. After discussing with the dealership, the warranty had been initiated for cancelation on 6/6/23 with the warranty company issuing a full refund check to the dealership and was cashed by the dealership on 7/20/23, the dealership wrote a full refund check (for the amount of the warranty alone) to the lein holder, ******** Financial, on 8/17/23. After speaking with the lein holder they have yet to receive the check and stated that typically the checks are received 7 to 10 business days after the check is mailed unless it is overnighted to them, processed shortly after. I am and have been paying interest on the warranty and still for the warranty itself.

I wish I can have a 0 star. READ CAREFULLY AND STOP TRUSTING IN GOOD PEOPLE AND GOOD FAITH. As right now, worst experience ever, first manager on used vehicles offered for my 2022 Toyota tundra 53k for a trade plus 3k for my 2010 kia Optima, on 8-5-2023. After been approved with those numbers, suddenly the BANK show up an alert saying that I have to pay $3,500 up front. After I decline that I leave the dealer (after more them 4 hrs dealing with everything). On Monday 8-7-2023, I offer $2,500 cash to make the deal. Without telling me anything and trick me, they make all the paperwork with a new trade offer, this Without letting me know and now they pay me $46k for my tundra when I specifically said I'll not accept less then what I own in that truck (48k) they rush all the paperwork to sign cause I was in a hurry to pick up my daughter at my mother in law house and for sure don't want to spend 4 hrs again in there like last saturday, put 2 different warranty that I specifically said I don't want any warranty, raise my monthly payment to from $1098, to $1175 to $1198 blaming the banks!!!! When I said I can't go more them $1100 a month. REMEMBER ON TOP OF REDUCE MY TO 46K O PAID $2,500 DOLLARS CASH. FOR THE ""BANK"", ALSO I GOT OTHER BANK TAKING TO LOAN NOT THE FIRST BANK THAT ASK FOR $3,500 On top of that!!!!!! I was told that my next payment was going to be in September 25, and that I don't have to worry about the old truck anymore. Well, today 8-29-2023 I received a notification from my bank saying that I was charged $750 for my old lease in toyota. After seen this I went to my old truck account and what I have, I still owing that 48k in the other truck and that balcony was good until September 9 (photo attach). I love my truck and I'll work really hard to pay that truck. But I was ROBED WITH NO GUNS!!!!!!!! just because I trust in the good faith of the people that are suppose to be there to serve and help the costumer. There's more than I can't type here.

Toyota of Greenville met with ** ******* regarding his concerns with purchasing the vehicle.  We have reviewed all paperwork that was signed before the bill of sale and contract was done and all information matches.  We do not have our own bank or do in house financing.  We use third party lenders to supply financing for our guests.  The banks sometimes require down payments and have different term options depending on many factors that goes into purchasing an automobile.  Regarding the $750 that *** ******* was charged on his prior vehicle, the lender should’ve refunded this money back to him by now.  In the event that the lender has not refunded that money Toyota of Greenville would be happy to step in and reimburse to make sure *** ******* is taken care of and happy with his vehicle purchase.  Please reach out to me directly at ************ and let me know if this has not be done!  Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!

I purchased a vehicle from them with cash payment. There was a refund from the amount I gave for Tax Title and License. They didn’t mention it to me. I had to ask about it. Then I was told that Texas would send me the refund. I spoke with the Tax Assessor in Texas and they stated they sent the refund to the dealership

This company sold me a lemon while smiling in my face. I have owned my 2015 Tahoe for less than a year. I put down $9000 for the vehicle. I have replaced half of the engine (~$3700 out of pocket) now the transmission is completely gone and needs to be replaced. The “year long warranty that would cover anything that popped up” completely refused to pay anything for the engine since they stated it was a “preexisting issue”. It turns out the other half of the engine went out a few months prior to me buying the vehicle and that was completely left out of conversations with Toyota and only revealed through the paperwork that they sped through. My air conditioning condenser also went out and had to be replaced on my dime at the same time. They stated that there were no known concerns with the vehicle in conversation. Now several months later the transmission has completely locked down. The warranty will cover $2900 leaving me to put out $3700 on top of all the money I spend on my predatory car loan (600 a month) and warranty. When I called and left messages with concerns about the warranty the first time no one even had the courtesy to call me back. I am now considering finding a lawyer since my finances have been completely wrecked buying a “almost new” vehicle. This is the first time I have ever bought my own vehicle and I waited for years before I felt comfortable buying a car and taking up a payment which I spoke to the used salesman about when I was purchasing. They definitely used that to their advantage and are not good business people. I would never recommend them to anyone. I have additional receipts and documentation of costs.

I reviewed the customer complaint and see where she has a Consumer Break Down Warranty for 60 months or 100,000.  The warranty company covered majority of the repair and we paid for the difference.  Also, we put the customer in a loaner at no expense to her!

Please let me know if you need anything else!

Hello on Sept 8th at 10:00 my vehicle was scheduled for a service maintenance. Upon arrival to Toyota of Greenville , the assistant service manager Daniel H****** was in charge of my services. During inspection , the service tech recommended that I needed a tire rotation . I gave permission for them to do that . Then he comes back later and say that they can’t do it because I need new tires . I just purchased my vehicle last year March 2021 i do have low profile tires but my tires were not due to be change. I asked if they could go ahead and rotate my tires , the service guy told me no because I needed new tires and then proceed to give me a price list for tires. Then I asked if they were going to go ahead and change my oil , the service manager refused and told me no it wasn’t time. I have the sticker and paper work from my last service which states that once my car reach over 46008 miles it was due . My car was over 47000 the day of this incident . I travel 50 miles to and from work so my miles will accumulate faster than most local driven vehicles . I have been dealing with them since I purchase my vehicle. The fact is I’m very disappointed with the service and the fact that I drove 50 miles to get my vehicle service and then they refused. I was going to purchase tires from them the following day but I had multiple service guys from my home town tell me it wasn’t time and that they could of still rotated my tires, so I canceled my appointment the following day. Toyota of Greenville did not respect my time or my opion for my vehicle.

At Toyota of Greenville we strive to provide excellent service with each visit, so it is disappointing to hear that of your experience.  While we have certain specs that we use as guidelines for things such as tires, not all shops follow the same guidelines.  We certainly understand your frustrations and value your time as our customer.  We will take this feedback and use it as an opportunity to see what we could have done differently for you.  We hope to be able to serve your automotive needs in the future and regain your trust in our store.

On 6/22/22, I paid $1,600 to enter a sales contract with the aforementioned dealership for a 2010 Infiniti QX56. The remaining balance was paid directly to the dealer by a third party lender on my behalf. The dealer promised to service the vehicle prior to delivery, but days later informed me that the vehicle was undeliverable due to parts being back ordered indefinitely. The dealer now refuses to cancel the contract, refund my payment, or payoff the loan which I am now responsible for satisfying although I was never physically able to take possession of the vehicle. This is a serious breach of contract that needs to be corrected before any further damage is done to my creditworthiness reputation.

Thank you for the opportunity to look into this concern and respond. Customer purchased the 2010 ******** **** from us – upon the sale of the vehicle we found out AC line is on backorder until February of 2023.  At this time we elected to trade the customer out of that vehicle into a 2012 Toyota *******.  The new lender requested proof of income which Ms. ****** provided.  However, after submitting to the lender indicated the documents submitted were questionable and were not accepted by the lender.  We attempted to reach Ms. ****** multiple times via text, phone, and email with no response.  Finally my used car director Mat W******* text Ms. ****** saying we need our vehicle back since the lender was not funding the deal on the *******.  The next morning the vehicle showed up at the dealership with the keys in it.  At this point there is nothing else we can do for Ms. ******.

on May 14 2022, I bought a used hyundai genesis form this dealership and put a down payment of 12,000 dollars for the car, I kept in contact with the dealership to see the current status of the car and I asked them to remove any modifications from the previous owner. about a month roll by and the car got delivered to me and I noticed they did Don any of things I asked them to do. In late July, I noticed the check engine light came on for the car so I took it to get a diagnostic run to see if everything is okay. the people who did the diagnostic run told me that the car is modified and that I doesn't have any catalytic converters on the car. and since I'm I. a county that does emission testing they broke a federal law for selling me a car without catalytic converters and they knew I was in a county where they do emissions testing.

      Business response

      09/13/2022

We did a full safety inspection on the vehicle.  The vehicle did have modifications to the vehicle and the customer was aware as they were here to test drive the vehicle.  In the state of SC it is not required for the vehicle to have catalytic converters to sell/purchase.  The picture on the listing shows the check engine light is on – I also attached other photos showing the vehicle is not original. We respectfully consider this case closed. thank you
