Brio has moved. New address is 2 Bella Grove Drive, Greenville, SC 29607.

I am a patient of Dr. Baych at Brio. I tried to schedule an appt through the patient portal 1/14/25, but I was locked out. After chatting/calling for assistance, I was informed that I had been discharged due to a $200 balance. They stated that a letter was sent to me back in 9/2025 and it was opened. However, I didn't open that email. Since I share a computer, it’s possible that someone else accessed it.

I would never have ignored an invoice if I had received it, nor would I have let it go without calling immediately. I need access to my doctor.

Since mid-January, I have been waiting for a callback. A person named Ronna (last name unknown) contacted me and said she needed to get her superior involved since I had been discharged previously due to a past-due invoice.

I have called multiple times the past week because no one was getting back to me, I am out of medicine refills, I just had a colonoscopy and I have not even been able to review the results with Dr. Baych.

Today I got a call while I was on a work call from an unknown number. They left a message and it was from Carrie Dylan. There was no phone number left to call back.

Message: Hi Jennifer this is Carrie Dylan and I'm calling you from Brio internal medicine in reference to your question about being a patient and I'm just calling to confirm what you've already been told is that at this time we cannot reinstate you as a patient due to the history on the account so I would strongly urge you to find another primary care or internal medicine provider that can assist you but at this time you cannot be reinstated as a patient thank you bye-bye.

They offered no help on my refills - some of my medication says to not stop abruptly. I was not even given the chance to return the call because no number was left.

I have never heard of being discharged from a medical practice. I have been abandoned by this practice.

Lab work was completed. I have state insurance that denied my bloodwork due to coding. I have tried to explain this to the business. They repeatedly call about my bill but will not return calls timely. I have asked to speak to a supervisor, office manager, and a patient advocate- all were denied. They refuse to provide me information of who I can contact.
If someone knowledgeable would speak with me I also have proof that not all the labs were preventative (A1C for example bc I was pre-diabetic when checked a year ago at another office) where it is NOT unethical to code it a different way but again you have to be able to speak with someone or get a return call. I am just told they are not in the office. I had to cancel my f/u appt because nobody could even tell me if I would have to pay the balance before seen. It is unprofessional and inappropriate to not allow someone to speak to someone higher up. One on of the 1 hour calls where I was transferred around, I was told the office manager was there but without her permission that they could not even transfer me to her voicemail.

      *******,

We sincerely apologize for your frustration and experience with Brio Internal Medicine.  Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee payment by insurance companies for any treatments ordered or provided in our offices as explained in our Practice Policies and Lab Waiver.  I understand that you spoke with several members of our team and were frustrated with not being able to speak to a manager in a Billing Department.  She was the best person to explain this, and unfortunately, she was out of the office at the time of your complaint.  Upon her return, there was a note in your chart that you wanted to be transferred from the practice.  Again, we apologize for your experience.

      Regards,

      Brio Internal Medicine

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
I have asked to speak to a supervisor which was denied. I was able to secure a new doctor and need my labs but they have removed my access to my own record.

      Regards,
