I went to the Camden South Carolina location because I was in severe, desperate pain. Now the last time I had an extraction done by a private dentist they took my insurance and I only paid 40 dollars for my copayment. Fast forward to April this year when my back teeth were killing me. I couldn’t find a private practice to take me or give me relief that day. I had to wait til the next day but the pain was so that I couldn’t wait. I walked into Aspen Dental because they took walk-ins. I go up in there desperate and the front desk clerk saw how much agony I was in. She turned me away at first, but one of the Dentists told her to actually tell me to wait. So I get the x-ray and and all that (which was painful by the way) and ordered antibiotics. At the same time they are telling me to sign all this paperwork while I’m in pain for a loan, I’m in pain and desperate so I’m just trying to get this tooth out by any means necessary not thinking that I just signed a contract to net out the little bit of money I get every month. You see, I’m on disability, food stamps, Medicare and Medicaid. And also come to find out they used AAALLL of my dental benefits and said I still owed, which doesn’t make sense at all! I CANT AFFORD OVER 1000 DOLLARS IN DEBT! THATS WHY I USED MY INSURANCES. So long story short, now I have a loan with a finance company that I can pay only minimal payments on, but if I do that, my payment discount will be taken away. Now I’m stuck because I was in pain and needed relief from a dentist and basically signed a contract under duress. I soooo regret running to them. Now they want me to make another appointment because they say that my front teeth were bad in the gums as well, even though I had no problems with them. Rest assured I’m not making another one! They played on the fact that I was reeeaally needing help and charged me and my insurance an extravagant amount for that relief. Please do not go there in desperation. They will take advantage

I will never go back! First they require a confirmation call before your appointment which is fine but when you call the number they give you on a text it does not count as a confirmation call! Ridiculous! They don't forward the call to the office you are being seen by. So when you show up you are canceled and must reschedule. Then when you come back they send you for XRays. I don't do xrays due to thyroid issues. Then they will Not see you for even a cleaning which is all I needed. And they inform you you can't get a simple cleaning on that same visit!!! You much return once ******** one tells you Any of this when you schedule. So unless you have endless amounts of time to waste don't bother.

I confirmed my appointment as a new patient more than once. I was asked to call and confirm my schedule. I did call and to confirm and got an automated message that told me my appointment had already been confirmed. I show up this morning and was told my appointment had been canceled because I didn’t call to confirm! I was more than a little unhappy! I was told they could see but they couldn’t clean my teeth and it would be ever how long she said before I could get another appointment. I told the receptionist I was interested.
I’ve never been sent so many notifications for an appointment as what this place sent. I’ve never had an appointment canceled saying I didn’t confirm by phone-which I had.
Also, the young receptionist sat at her area chewing gum with her mouth open as she talked to me. Totally unprofessional and not a good look for this business.

My filling has fell out numerous of times! I also got an infection from a shot they gave me and was also told to leave bc they thought I was going to reach out to an attorney which I never said by the way just asked for my propped notes etc! when all I wanted was my teeth to be fixed properly and now I’m forced to reach out to an attorney! They paper work was has a lot of deception! I have pictures with all the teeth issues! I have never felt so scammed in my life and the gas lighting when I addressed the issues was an all time high! Do not go here not ever my teeth still are messed up I’m out of money and fillings still fell out! (W/ proof of pictures)! You address they change the notes around in their favor or don’t report it in the notes at all

If I could give this company zero stars, I would My mother was a patient at Aspen dental in Taylors, South Carolina. They charged her outrageous prices, even tacked on a little extra at the end that she was not aware of. They were very unprofessional in talking on the phone with my mother even the lady hung up on my mother, when she tried to question the billing. I advise people not even to give Aspen dental the time of day. They are very dishonest people

This comment is specific to the greenwood, sc location. I went in as a new patient just having moved here from another state but having full coverage healthcare. I received a panoramic xray whuch gives a complete awesome picture of everything in the mouth, but then they took 16 more regular xrays of my teeth!! NOT necessary, just pumping up the bill! when I say the Dr. he showed me ONE xray and immediately said i had bone loss and ALL my teeth should come out!! They then shuffled me off to a finance lady to discuss denture options. the lowest level of dentures cost $15,000 with the extractions!!! My insurance max is $4000. She said do top this year and then you get another $4000 from insurance next year, and finance the rest. I said I live off a disability check. She asked if a FAMILY member or FRIEND could finance it or take out a bank loan!! She pressured me so hard. I spent way more time with her than the dentist! Now, I walked in and explained that prior to my move, i spent a year and a half with a periodontist and was just about to get ONE extraction and a lower partial!! I had my records of that plan sent twice but they couldn't seem to agree on whether or not they received my records!!
I feel this business is a money hungry scam. I am now looking for another dentist and I reported this to my health insurance carrier.

Short story is, they were unprofessional and rude, they lied, they made me terrible dentures, and then told me I had no recourse because I signed off on the last fitting. That was only because they told me I could still make changes and not to worry about those problems "right now." I have two choices for the fit. If I want my back teeth to come together for something like, say,.. chewing, the uppers are a quarter inch farther out than the bottoms. If I put the front where they're supposed to be my teeth don't match in the back. And the front teeth are permanently angled out like Billy Bob buck teeth. So they can never look straight. There's so much more I could say, but there's not enough room here. I'm going to get my old Dentures from affordable dentures relined! They have been great, and I definitely would have gone back but they don't take my insurance. I may have to end up paying for them out of pocket, and I'm not quite sure how I would be able to do that right now.

I had an appointment on 8/22/23 because my bottom plate I've had for years, was broken. They did exrays and I decided to go with new plates, top and bottom. Total treatment plan $ 2833.00. That day they also charged $181. 00 to repair my bottom plate, which lasted less than a day. I called to get a new appointment to get the plate repaired again. They told me no one was there that could repair. Here I am having to work and eat with a broken denture. I keep calling them to check and see if my dentures are ready, they tell me no. After about 2 weeks, I have 2 different people from this office with my appointment. I show up for appointment just to have them say I didn't have one. I was LIVID at this point and ask to speak to someone in charge. So, I did. No help at all. In the meantime, I'm without teeth. Finally got my plates and had so much discomfort, I could hardly talk let alone eat anything. The bite was way off . Not being able to use the dentures without pain on 12/5/23 the bottom plate broke half in to. Made an appointment for next day. They said they would treat it as an emergency, and should have them made the next day. It is now 12/29/23 and still NO PLATE. I called them about a week after and they tell me they've just started on them. Ok, can you please call me when completed. I don't want to deal with this business, EVER, again. I just want my money back. It's obvious they are not going to replace them. I actually changed my plan with them not long after because I realized they were being shady. I have all receipts where everything has been paid. I am requesting $1461.00 back so I can go to a LAGIT dentist. Aspen Dental is a joke and shouldn't be allowed to practice, anywhere, ever again
