1 starPredatory debt buyer. Business model is to buy up old accounts, file thousands of frivolous lawsuits, get fast default judgements and get fast garnishments even if the original debt(s) is/are not valid. They routinely violate CRRG standards, the FCRA and the FDCPA by furnishing and reverifying improper data to the CRAs (credit bureaus) in hopes that people will just pay them to quickly make it go away.
They hide behind other companies pushing you off to "Resurgent" as a "third party debt collector" not revealing that Sherman Financial Group owns both LVNV AND Resurgent. They are sister companies designed to block you from contacting LVNV directly which is another FCRA violation.
They also hire low end law firms to mass file frivolous lawsuits. Those low end firms then also work to prevent contact directly with LVNV.
They use "fluffy" language on their website suggesting they want to "help you" but nothing could be further from the truth. They are debt scavengers and debt predators, bottom feeders that make no effort to verify or validate information. They don't care who they hurt.
Get a lawyer and sue them, it will be the only way to get anywhere with them.Review fromDenise T

1 star1-Star Review – LVNV Funding LLC: Inaccurate Debt Collection & Poor Resolution
I strongly advise caution when dealing with LVNV Funding LLC. They are attempting to collect a debt that does not belong to them and have failed to provide proper validation.
Major Issues:
?? False Debt Ownership – The original creditor was *******, which closed my account with a $450 balance. LVNV is now claiming $998 with unexplained, inflated fees.
?? No Proof of Debt – Despite my requests, they refuse to validate the debt or show legal ownership.
?? System Errors Blocking Resolution – Their online portal gives an "error" message when trying to check my case, making it impossible to resolve.Poor Business Practices:
No transparency on how fees nearly doubled the original debt.
I’ve had to file complaints with the BBB, ****, and *** due to their unfair collection tactics. Avoid this company until they comply with federal debt collection laws.LVNV Funding, LLC

1 starThis company has come after me for a debt from 2008. They have garnished my wages for my work two different years the first year the amount was $1480 something. The next year the amounts owed said I owed them $ 1590. Yet they were garnishing me 25% both years. Therefore does the amount go up and not down. They then put a bank levy on my account and took all of my money right before Christmas. Then they got their amount of money and I had to pull teeth to get a satisfaction judgment from them and they're still saying that I have a balance with them. Now I received another thing from resurgent lvnv funding saying that I owe a bill from 2007 for $1,800. However I have a paper that says statue of limitations for them to pursue. However I have still received papers saying that I have a debt with them and they're still reporting on my credit report. They take advantage of people who don't understand that they have rights. There should be a class action lawsuit against these people because I guarantee there are more people than just on here putting in reviews. If I could give this company a zero Stars too I would they call they harass me when I try to talk to them about my stuff they're rude to me I end up hanging up on them because I mean I don't have to tolerate that and no one should they shouldn't be able to just put whatever they want on your credit report and come after you for a debt that you never had with them.Review fromAdrianna B

1 starThey have 2 numbers right of my 9 digit Social Security Number. They have my birth month, day, and year all wrong. Unfortunately, somehow they found my real phone number and address. Tell them you are willing to make a payment to stop their harassment, suddenly verifying who you are is no longer a legal issue to them. They will talk freely and give you birthdates and Social Security numbers they have. And they wonder why they buy so many fraud cases...Calling, texting, emailing, and physical mail on a stolen identity account from 21 years ago that I sent them the police report 2 different times proving it. This company is apparently in definite financial trouble if the are chasing a $372.95 fraud from 21 years ago.LVNV Funding, LLC

1 starLvnv bunch of cons never done any business with them and I been tireless fighting the credit bureaus to get their collections removed from my credit report and no avail and have no knowledge of any of their balance owed totaling little over 4000 I have sent cease and decease but no avail they need to be stopped and charged with perjury and extortionLVNV Funding, LLC
