      On 12/31/2024, we put diesel fuel from the Circle K at 2572 Ashley River Rd, Charleston, SC 29414 into our truck and drove straight home, which is less than a half mile from the gas station. The next day when we tried to drive the truck, it started idling erratically and we got a "water in fuel" notification. Ten yards from the house, the truck stopped working completely.

      We went to the gas station and spoke to a staff member. We notified them that there was water in our truck's fuel lines. The manager of this Circle K gave us a corporate phone number which we used to file a complaint. They said they would get back to us in "24 business hours". This was about a week ago and we have not heard from anyone regarding this issue.

      We have consulted a mechanic. It is estimated that the repairs will cost at least $5k because this is a 2023 GMC K3500.

      We are disappointed with the lack of response from Circle K. We have contacted the SC Department of Agriculture and requested that they sample and test the fuel. Attached to this complaint is a photo of the liquid that was drained from the truck which clearly shows both fuel and water in the sample.

      Attached to this complaint are two photos taken the morning of 1/8/2025 showing an "out of service" cover on the diesel pump at the same Circle K station and no posted diesel price. We believe the diesel pumps at this Circle K have been out of service since 1/1/2025.

      This transaction was made using a credit card. A screenshot of the record of this transaction is attached to this complaint.

      Gas station owners have a duty to ensure that the fuel they sell is up to standard. The fuel that we purchased was clearly not up to standard. If reimbursement for the cost of repairs cannot be settled with Circle K, we will file a civil suit for reimbursement of the damages caused to our truck.

      We hope we can receive a swift response from corporate regarding the process for getting our required repairs reimbursed.
