    Got charged for smoking in the room and we don't smoke tried to talk to the manager she had no cares in the world said there was a cigarette **** in trash can and came from picking up **** on the job site

    On 7-8-22 I booked a 61 day stay at the Quality Inn / Sleep Inn in Conway SC on the Choice App. When I got my first folio I notice that they charged me the total amount of the stay on 7-8 in 4 separate charges ($900, $900, $5,000 and $3,325.62) for a total of $10,125.62. I later reviewed rates a found out that they had dropped in prices.

    I asked the hotel Manager (Anita) to review and adjust or I would check out and move to another hotel. On 8-19 the manager (Anita) came back to me with an updated on rate 116.34 including taxes. She said they would refund me for the difference of this new rate and my old rate. I asked when the refund would take place. She said she is waiting for her boss to take care of it for me and would get back to me.

    I asked the manager in person a week later for an update and she was very elusive. She said it would be handled. I asked if it would be in the next couple of days or next week. She said probably not. I reminded her that on day one they took my money and I just want to know when I will get my refund. She said again she will ask her boss and let me know. I've tried to follow up with her again by email and I get no response.

    Due to the fact that I can't get a response or anyone to talk to me about my situation I was forced to file a dispute to BBB. The entire events of this stay seem very shady and unlike any hotel stay I've experienced before.
    My checkout day in this hotel is 9-7. The difference from when they charged me $10,125.62 at check in and the updated rate on 8-19 to 9-7 would leave a difference / refund to me of $1,282.40. My concern is that because I can't get any information now it will be worse after I check out.
