    I recently purchased a used 2016 Subaru WRX vehicle with about 34,000 miles on it from Mazda at Columbia in Columbia, SC on April 25th, 2023. I payed $24,000 for the vehicle, along with a cash payment. Mazda of Columbia posted the vehicle online and told me that they were selling me a stock, properly inspected and drivable vehicle. After several days of purchase, I had mentioned to the dealership multiple concerns I had been experiencing with it. Due to this, I had also taken it to do a buyers inspection at another dealership. They told me the car was tuned with modified parts which I did not know prior to purchase, and that it also had an oil leak with the potential of other problems. Mazda accepted to service the vehicle at their expense on May 4th. It took them until May 22nd to complete the service of the vehicle. They fixed a few things but didn’t address the larger issues I mentioned and said they couldn’t. The car broke down on me 06/22/23, not even a month later. - The dealership sold me a falsely advertised vehicle which was not identified and labeled as modified - The dealership failed to do a proper inspection on the vehicle before placing it for sale - The dealership did not repair and service the vehicle to a drivable state before placing it for sale - The dealership sold me the car knowing all of this in order to rid of the vehicle - The dealership poorly serviced the vehicle for me without addressing any larger issues I’ve reached out to the dealership already and have been neglecting to communicate with me.

    This company has very shady business practices. I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle, and they added an extended warranty of $1995 to the cost of the vehicle. I later found out that all Mazda CPO vehicles have a seven-year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty at NO EXTRA cost. When I tried to cancel the extended warranty, I was told that it was part of the cost of the vehicle! I already have a warranty on the car, so why would I pay almost $2000 for a warranty that I do not need. I was told that it was part of the cost of the vehicle. That is really dishonest because I paid for the extended warranty separately from the cost of the car payment. I specifically said I did not want the extended warranty to be financed with the vehicle, so how is it included in the cost of the car? It’s not. This is my second time buying a Mazda from them, but I will never buy another one from them because a car that was posted for $25,987 ended up costing over $34,000 with all the extra fees, taxes and warranties--even with $7,000 down and 6.51% APR. What a ripoff! To make matters worse, the warranty only covers engine and transmission. I should have never gone to a dealer or salesperson who works for commission because they are worried about their pockets and not doing what's best for the customer. If you buy a Mazda certified preowned vehicle, you do not need to pay for an extra warranty. They are doing that to make more money. Buyer Beware.
