My 07 Chevrolet Impala with 68,790 miles was taken to Take 5 at **** ******* ******* ** Boiling Springs SC 29316 on 12/04/2024 at 3:15pm for oil and air filter change. The techs were (Kevin H***/Pit) (Asthan Safety/MOD) Kevin (SVC Writer). While getting the oil change tech stated "start car" in which it made a noise. That has Never done before. Asked why did the car do that Tech stated " oh that's a dry start". When car got home it still made the noise. I called the shop I was told manager wasn't there 12/4/24. Tried driving the vehicle in which the vehicle shut down while driving and had to be towed. "Motor gone" this vehicle only has 68,790. I tried calling again 12/6/24 @ 12:07pm I was told we will look into this and call back. No one has called. I'm without a car that was operating fine before taken to this location.

    Good morning,

    I
apologize for the inconvenience you experienced that day with the service at
Take 5 and the delayed response to your email. The shop that you visited
happens to be a Franchise location meaning it is privately owned and operated.
The shop will have to handle all service failures themselves. I have asked the BBB team to send this along to the right business to address.

    Thank you.

    Dear *** *******,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We have completed our investigation into your claim, both in person and by reviewing our video recordings.

    Below are our findings:

Upon inspecting your vehicle, we found that both the oil plug and oil filter were securely tightened with no signs of leaks.

We also confirmed that the engine oil level was at the proper fill level.

Regarding the "dry start" you mentioned, we reviewed the video from your service. Our findings show that there was no period during your service when the vehicle was started without oil.

As discussed with our manager during the inspection, in order to proceed with further investigation, we require the vehicle to be examined by a certified mechanic at an authorized shop.

Please let us know if you need any assistance with this process.

I went into take 5 on July 7th to get an oil change I was informed they couldn’t do it at the time, the worker then closed my hood and told me everything was good to go. Thursday morning I for up to go to work and noticed my car making a funny noise so I checked under the hood and they had left my oil cap off and let the oil completely drain from my car. I called the company as soon as they were opened and was told to give them my information. I really need someone to look into this to repair the damages caused to my car due to their lack of checking before they closed the hood.

This issue was investigated after we received the original complaint. We did find that the oil cap was left off causing some of the oil to come out. We were able to get the oil back to a full capacity. The engine noise that the customer was concerned about went away and no other issues were present. We had *** ******** bring her vehicle to our shop and the manager personally performed the oil change. During the drive to the shop and after the oil change was completed there were no noticeable noises or issues with the vehicle’s engine. When speaking to *** ******** after correcting the issue she was happy with the outcome of the situation. We did inform her that if any issues arise in the next few weeks that she can reach back out to us and we can take further action.

I went to the take 5 location in boiling springs sc. i received service 1/21/23. I noticed my engine was making a ticking noise and checked to notice that my oil was leaking. I went back to the shop and they told me hey didn't replace the gasket and my oil had been leaking. I have called customer service, spoken to the shop manager - who came out to access my vehicle - the shop manager told me it was "normal wear and tear". It absolutely was not. I finally got in touch with the district manager after more than a week. Jason Z********. He was rude and twisted my words to fit his storyline (which was false). They have ruined my car and cost me $7000. they admitted to their mistake but will not take financial responsibility. the district manager refused to give me a phone number to contact him only an email address which he will not respond to. I am extremely unhappy with the way this business handles customers.
