I just want to start by saying everyone has their own experience, mine just happened to be unpleasant & expensive. I brought my 8 month old German Shepherd to ACE K9 Academy in August of 2021, seeking desperate help with my dogs behavioral issues. My MAIN concerns were biting and/or snapping when in defense (when told not to do something that is wrong/bad) and jumping on people in excitement. Alongside, some separation *************** issues within my household. I was very specific with my needs and they recommended a 6 week board&train for $4,900.00. I accepted right away. Money is never an issue when it comes to positive outcomes. However, my outcome was far from positive and rather negative. First, I was told and I quote we would fix all of this. He would be conditioned to a prong collar and ecollar and he would be muzzle conditioned to get started. They also told me to start him immediately or it would only get worse. I had him enrolled within 4 days. They also told me GSDs are their speciality. That they breed, train and compete with theirs and travel the country which at first eased my mind. When I brought him to the facility, they told me that he would be in great hands, that I could contact them whenever, that I can keep up with any updates through their Instagram story or to text the company phone AT ANY TIME. Sounds good right? Wrong. After they would receive their payments, no response. I went over a week , August 20-September 3rd to be exact without any responses and basically talking to myself through text messages. They would get back to me when payment was near or when I was due for my mid-training ******* I also only saw a handful of updates on their IG throughout his entire 6 week program. When the training was complete, he was probably 5-10lbs lighter than when I dropped him off, his rib cages where visible. He had a tear on his nose that was bleeding and quite large, blisters between his toes and elbows and just didnt look like he was in good condition. He also came home with pink eye and an infection on the tip of his ear that I had to get treated. Definitely not the dog I dropped off. I dont throw the word abuse around lightly but youre entitled to your own opinions. I was given a packet when I went home with my dog on instructions to follow for the following 90 days. I was also given an ecollar and prong collar and was told that we would meet for a follow up ****** the next day. The first night my dog was exhausted and went right to sleep in the crate. The next day, the EXACT same behavior that I brought him there for was occurring. NO CHANGE. I told them how unpleased and unsatisfied I was with the experience and did not feel as though the training was worth nearly $5,000 and she told me she would be by for a follow up. When she came over she instructed me on how to properly use the ecollar/prong collar which I thought would change things. I stuck with my end of the deal with training at home, properly using his corrective devices and still no change 60 days later. I have waited to make a review on this place in hopes that things would change but instead they have continued to just get worse. Save your money!!! I can truly say this has been a terrible experience. I still do not get replies regarding my dog because (in my opinion) I am not filling anyones pockets anymore. So sad and such a terrible, expensive experience with the same dog from months ago, MAYBE 10% better.
