On 10/15/24, I dropped my car off so work could be done the next day. ******, the owner, immediately told me I need to replace my timing belt without even looking at my car. I told him I am only there to get the clock spring replaced to get my inspection sticker. I met him the next day to pick up my car and had several engine codes on the dash. He cleared them, saying it might have been from doing the work. They came back on, on my drive home (2 1/2 miles). When I got home I went to use the buttons on my steering wheel to fix my clock and they didn't work-which is directly linked to the clock spring repair. I text ****** about the codes and buttons and went back the next day. As soon as I got there, he again insisted that I need to replace my timing belt. I shouldn't drive it anymore, it is going to implode, and should make an appointment with him now, and while he had it, he would have his son look at the clock spring to make sure he did it right. My wife then asked why after all this time, this light only came on now, the same day it went to his shop. He wouldn't answer and walked away back into his shop. We immediately went to ********** to get the code read. I have a printout, and is only for the timing sensor, which means it was either disconnected or needs to be replaced. I then received a text from ****** that he wants no further contact. Now, I just dropped my car off at another place, and have to spend more on work he already did, and should be fixed, plus, they are checking the timing sensors-which is extra labor cost. I had to bring my own part (which I got from the dealer) and paid $200.00 for his labor. I want a refund, so I can use this to get it fixed right.

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.  The last text I received said he would have to take a rain check on contact.

When ***** first came by I noticed he had over ****** miles on his original timing belt (I asked him if it ever was changed)that has a lifespan of ****** miles,I tried to explain to him that the engine was a ticking time bomb and going to cost him a fortune if it fails.Anyway the reason he came was for a clockspring which was done properly and shut of the airbag light which he was more concerned about,No matter what I told him he was ignorant to the situation.I never ever unplugged something to get more business's ,the reason that timing code was triggered is because the belt was severely stretched and ready to implode. His wife was also very rude and trying to accuse me of doing something to the car ,if by chance I can retrieve my deleted text i can prove that I told him more then once that he needs to address that belt.Btw there is not a sensor you can unplug without putting the car into limp mode.Anyway after his rude and clueless wife accused me of creating a problem ,i absolutely did go into the shop and told his via text that I have a gravelly Ill wife and have no patience for people who dont maintain there car and then try and blame someone else when stuff fails. The only reason he even changed the  clock spring was for inspection reasons and not like he wanted to keep on top of things. These people need to take a course on how engines perform and what needs to be done to keep them in operating properly before accusing someone of something that is totally untrue. If there is anything wrong with the clockspring job I will refund him.
