**** and I could no reach an agreement on this contract, she had additional framing problems that were not being addressed. Possibly the other contractors did not pick up on this on initial walk through. I do charge what insurance charges and that is 90hr per man and I do not dispose of trash for free. Yes it may be $115 but I charge aprx $100 for wear and tear  on my vehicles and equipment.

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.

[You must provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.  If you do not enter a reason for your rejection, your complaint will be closed as Answered.]

As you can see by the contractors lack of reasonable response and not addressing concerns he has not be easy to work with.  From the beginning, I have expressed to the contractor that what the insurance company has provided for the claim is what I could work with.  The contractor was very pushy and kept insisting on getting a public adjustor involved (which would be at my expense).  In addition, All 3 men were not on site for the entire 4 hours.  He also charged me 95 for each of the 3 visits - one was the initial consultation. The second visit was at HIS request with the insurance adjuster and the third was again at HIS request to discuss once again getting more money for the project.  And I was never advised there was going to be a fee associated with these visits.

Contractor also stated in response that I was the one unwilling to work with him.  From the get-go when this started in the Fall of 23, I made it very clear that I did not have the additional funds to pay outside of what the insurance claim was providing me. After our initial meeting he said that the number from the insurance claim "looked good". When he started demo, and he noticed more damage than anticipated, I could completely understand his concern.  That is when I reached out to the insurance adjustor to give him the feedback from the contractor.  The contractor, as stated above, requested to meet with the insurance adjustor.  After they met and the additional check was cut from the insurance company, the contractor looked over the detailed outline of the job provided by the adjuster and he confirmed that the numbers "looked good" and he would be able to do the work needed with the given amount.

He advised me he would start end of April. A couple weeks before he started, he reached out looking for more money - outside of the $6K deposit he received.  At that time, I was not comfortable with giving him more money as he still had my deposit and only worked the one day.  I was willing to work with the contractor but reminded him repeatedly that I needed to stay in budget.  Because he was not able to do so, I asked for my deposit back minus the little work he did. Which I felt should have been approx $1K based on the original estimate that the insurance adjuster provided and the contractor agreed to.

Again, I feel that the contractor inflated his bill stating that they had 3 men on the job for 4 hour, when only one guy was there the full time. He and his daughter was there only a portion of the time. Also, I was charged for 3 visits I was never made aware I would be charged for - and the fact that 2 of them were at HIS request.
