I had a front and back door installed at my home and have had numerous problems involving the front door bolt lock not operating correctly making it difficult to lock and unlock the front door. I have had condensation buildup around both doors. Ive had to schedule multiple appointments for a service worker to come and each time told there is nothing wrong and leave after making an adjustment to the strike plate which is clearly not the issue as the door is not closing far enough. When addressing these issues most recently the worker stated there was a problem with the back door after pushing on it when I said that they installed the door so if there is a problem they should fix it he said there was nothing wrong and left. I then called to speak with a manager and ended up on the phone with the vice president of the company who has done nothing but cover and lie for his employees changing his story about what he has been told and arguing that there is nothing wrong and putting the responsibility on me to diagnose the problem and if I cant there is nothing wrong. When this process started I was told by the office manager that the employee that installed the doors was fired due to related issues of not properly installing the doors. The treatment and complete disrespect is not acceptable when Ive repeatedly been polite in my requests for the doors to function as they are supposed to.Business Response

The response received from Applebys is only have true which is an improvement sadly. The door was not uninstalled and then reinstalled correctly. What was done was half the frame was unscrewed and shifted the frame as far and as best they could until the door appeared level and raised the one side. To note the shift was close to an inch which is important since I was repeatedly told there was nothing wrong. Even though this might have resolved the door from not closing properly I am not an expert but does not seem to be the proper solution. It was explained that the adjustments that were made is really all that can be done because the frame is too large to adjust it any further in the arch of the house. The caulking and trim that was put back up looks awful on the outside of the house. Not to mention the other reason why the solution to fix the door was done how it was is because one one of the workers that showed up was willing to work on the door. The workers that refused to acknowledge the problem and lied about work he had done on the door refused to help or even leave his car other than drop off equipment in the driveway. So I had to actually help with repairing the door. Not only did I have to take another day off work someone else got paid for hours I worked doing his job and he sat in his car. When I spoke with the ** about how his employee refused to work his response was attitude because I wanted it addressed. To add yet another insult to injury one of the hinges to the door is bent from not being level and grinds loudly. Oh the one positive is at least the one worker that came out is professional and doesnt lie not only did he acknowledge the problem the first time he came out the second time while straightening the door he stated that he was worried it wouldnt be able to be done because the screws would be stripped because it has already been uninstalled and installed twice before. The one time by the worker that refused to leave his car this time and left without doing anything the last time which is not possible for one person to do because of the size of the door and frame. To note this last fix was the first time a s**** other then the strike plate was ever touched when someone came out to get the door to correctly. Oh and this worker ***** is the only guy they send out for repairs and they will repeatedly tell you hes their best guy knows the most been there the longest and does the best work. Well hes getting paid to do the work Ive yet to see him do anything more then 15 minutes and refuses to do anything hes responsible to do. In the spirit of honesty this is all very concerning how this was addressed and will probably cost me more time and money as Applebys is gambling that any damage to my house down the road that starts to present because the door wasnt installed properly they can brush off as not their fault and anything that would be will happen after the warranty expires so they dont have to spend the money to replace what they didnt install, measure, fix correctly.Customer Answer

Think it was a month to two months ago. Went into the Harrisburg ******* and was asked if I knew about *******s cash giveaway. I was dumb, ******* didn’t post anything about a giveaway or maybe I just didn’t get to that section of the store yet, so course I said no. She said she just needed my name and number, so she wrote down my name and number and we went on our way. I didn’t find out it was a home improvement company looking to get customers until today thanks to **********, a spam call blocker. So I get a call from a *** number that day. I don’t recognize the number. ******* it, no info, nor did they leave a voicemail. Next day, a different number. Next day, a different number. Some days, back to back calls. Other days, Unknown Caller comes through and again, back to back calls. This has been going on for at least one to two months now. Every single number I block, a new one comes through the following day with again, zero Google information so I know these numbers are spoofed. Last night, 6/7/2023 I finally downloaded ********** because I’m so tired of the constant harassment. Today, a call comes in, with a 4 second voicemail stating [____ Appleby Systems] (I’ll save her name from being put out there but I assume it’s the associate). I’m glad they have a great rating but if they assume I’m going to be a customer, after not taking the hint, nor leaving any voicemails stating who they are, let alone I don’t even own my home, then they have a **** poor business model going on. All I ask is to stop being harassed.Business Response

I purchased all my windows & patio door from Appleby's I have a certificate, 50 yr. limited warranty. I have emailed three times, asking to have someone look at my picture window. I told them to email me instead of calling because it is quicker to get in touch w/ me. No one has reached out. I just want someone to look at the window, the vinyl under the window is sagging. I don't want it to crack or buckle under the weight of window, it is a big window. Just honor your warranty.Business Response
