on 10/2020 I took a 1968 ***** ******** to Maaco to have body work done and roof repaired. I paid them around $11,000.00. They gave me a run around about when the car was going to be done. Finally picked up the car 10/06/2021. Picked up the car 06/20/21, with the understanding it was going to be fixed, refiring to spots in the paint. I took the car back in 10/2021 and told them the back window was broken and was leaking. They interned to sell the Maaco in York. Tom S***** , cell ####-###-#### they sent the car to Maaco in York to fix the back window. Maaco in Hanover found the back window to be Raught rusted. They fixed other things they covered up. they also said there is a lot of things they still need to be done to the car. the Maaco in York wants the cat back to be painted. The Maaco in Hanover said they would paint over the problem and not wanting to fix them. I amTom S*******, owner of Maaco York.
*********************** paid ***************, DBA Maaco Painting and Collision, 11k to complete the work on this 1968 ********. **** paid and accepted his car in early November, 2021 from ***************.Maaco Painting and Collision ceased operations, and I purchased the franchise rights to Maaco, some of the existing equipment, and opened Maaco York on Nov 17th.**** brought the car in sometime in December, and I worked with Jon (cc'd) from Maaco corporate, and Maaco of Hanover (they specialize in antique cars) to address some of *****'s concerns.Hanover completed the body work, and out of goodwill, I paid for a new rear window. These repairs have been completed (around 4/28/22). We asked **** to look at his car at the Hanover location (my understanding is he lives much closer to that location), but it is my understanding he has not chosen to do so.
My team is picking up the car from the Hanover location, and will keep it at the York location for **** to inspect and pick up.
My location will honor the national warranty for paint jobs, and complete any work. I will not be reimbursed for this warranty work, and am completing it out of good will.Customer response

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:
First off I **** had 11,000.00 paid to Maaco in June 2021 second off I did not accept the car. I showed them the spots in the paint like dust all over the car. I showed them the rust spots at the drivers side headlight, and the dent on the pass side headlight, showed them the Crome around the back window. They said bring the car back around Christmas, so I did. The Monday after Christmas Which I showed them the crack in the back window that was leaking, I showed them the dents.I showed them the wavey spots under the side window I showed them the points on pass side back fender. I showed them the chrome was and still is upside down on the bar.
Tail lights I showed i showed the dents back there too. After saying that why would i except except that.
I didn't say I brought the car in December which is true but* didn't hear from Tom S******* until Jan/2022.
Which I went out to Maaco of york and talk to Tom and 2 reps. of maaco again walked around the car showed spots I knew of I think it was Jan/2022.
I was going to Hanover I went through Menges M****** at the stop sign and all of a suden theres my car so i followed it. Tom pulled over in Hanover because he recognized me, a said he was taking it to the Maaco in Hanover parked the car there It sat outside there a month our so. I called Tom and asked whats going on with my car.
Ok now my car is in Maaco in Hanover His reply is did you get your car back??? Is it painted I then cussed at him.Ok now my car is the inside of Maaco oh Hanover. There working on it. They descover rust all round the back window They took pictures of it, So Maaco in york painted all over the rust. They fixed that. They also show me other dents on the car. Maaco in york said there is an understanding I didn't go to Hanover to see the work done, that is a bald face lie. so maaco in york to be painted over the dents. I called Tom to apologize for cussing at him. He said a man named Justin called today he is going to meet me on Monday. So I paid 11,000.00 to have a car bodywork done and painted, so why should i except the car. Still needs body work You know I have all the reciepts that i would have the dents fixed.
I dont unerstand this talk of good faithtowards me. what did i pay 11,000.00 for??? It's corporate Maaco doing this to me? And it's wrong.I have the receipts and I want my car fixed.
Regards,

I went yo MAACO to have a license plate removed on the front and patched, sanded, and painted. **** told me is a defect with whatever product was used from ** and was reaching out to them for support on how to fix the problem. Im unhappy with the bumper because the paint is chipping off where it was suppose to be repaired. Ive sent numerous photos of the issues, multiple times. Ive had to come in multiple times to have the issue fixed before and this will be the 3rd time.I paid $225 to have the holes repaired. I came in for a service and I expect the service to be completed without issues. The clear coat and paint is now chipping off where the holes were repaired for the 3rd time. The owner only gave me a partial refund of $100 and told me he would not refund anymore or buy anything materials to fix the issue. I just want the issue fixed and Ive been there 3 times for the same problem and every time I get a different explanation for why it not working.Business response

To whom it may concern,
Following the completion of one of our customers' vehicles, we received an email containing pictures of the site in which we worked on. The first time this occurred, we simply asked the customer if he could bring the vehicle back in so we could figure out what exactly the problem was that was causing the issue. After evaluating the site where the paint was cracking, we were able to determine that the issue was with a product we used in the repair process. Upon figuring this out, we immediately reached out to our providers to attempt and figure out what exactly was causing this “defect”. After attempting to reach out, we were unable to figure out a solution as to how to fix the faulty product. With no success, the customer requested a refund for the faulty work. We provided a partial refund for the services we charged him that were not completed. However, we did not issue a full refund as there were services we did in fact complete, such as the full painting and refinishing of the front bumper. The customer originally wanted us to buy him an entirely new bumper and repaint it with no charge to himself. After explaining to the customer that we simply cannot do that given the circumstances, we have since been able to work out more of an agreement. We offered to repaint the bumper yet another time in an attempt to find a solution that works for everyone involved. In the event we are unable to achieve the desired result, the plate bracket will be reinstalled and returned to its stock form. As of 7-20-21, the customer has not come in yet due to difficulty in making the arrangements for the vehicle to drop off. The offer however still stands.
Sincerely,
Maaco 47 of York, PA
