To Whom It May Concern,I am writing to file a formal complaint against Asplundh .After repeatedly contacting DTE regarding a tree in my backyard that needed trimming due to power line interference, they finally responded by sending out a crew from Asplundh. However, the experience was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.Three workers arrived to trim the tree, but instead of properly removing the debris, they left large piles of tree trimmings in my backyard and on my neighbors front lawn. I personally spoke to one of the workers when I saw them dragging the trimmings onto my neighbors property and suggested they move them across the street. The worker assured me that the debris would be shredded. That never happened.Another worker said they would be cutting the trimmings into logs. That also never happened. A third individual told me they had been called to another job site and would return later that day to clean up the mess. Unsurprisingly, no one ever came back to finish the job. This level of disregard is not only disrespectful to me and my neighbors but shows a lack of accountability on Asplundhs part. I should not have to continually file complaints in order for basic responsibilities to be met. Leaving such a mess behind is unacceptable and a nuisance to both myself and those living nearby.I am requesting that the Asplundh team sent through ***********Return immediately to clean up the remaining tree trimmings and properly dispose of the debris as they initially promised. I also ask that they take full responsibility for the inconvenience and lack of follow-through shown by their employees.Business Response

I have power lines that run parallel to my property. I recently purchased the property. Asplundh came twice to cut around power lines. They parked on my property. They left all the clippings in my yard and did not clean them up. They came back a third time and after complaining to them, i was told by a supervisor they were not allowed on my private property as there was an easement they are supposed to use. They have since drove down my private driveway "to check powerlines". I am trying to contact them about this issue however they don't answer the phoneInitial Complaint

In November 2024, *********** informed us that we would have a team of tree experts cut branches around power lines on our property. Shortly after they were finished, we noticed that their equipment had damaged our driveway. The sides of our driveway broke off in several places. Equipment tracks were clearly visible (I have photos). ***** ******, team supervisor, came out a couple of days later to discuss the damages, and we decided that he and his team would repair the damage without us having to file a claim. We were going to wait until warmer weather. The weather got warm, and we waited, but no one contacted us. I called ***** on March 3, April 15, April 17, April 18, and April 29. I left numerous voicemails - I have not heard back. I have also emailed the area supervisor ********************************* numerous times. No response. I called their Kentucky office at ************ on April 29. They told me they would have our area supervisor contact us. No one has called.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. The statement the business made that we have been unresponsive is false. If they did call from a spam looking number and did not leave a message, yes, we would not respond to that. When we were contacted by the local representative who did leave a message, we responded right away.I have reviewed the proposed solution the business offered and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

On April, 2, 2025 there was an Asplundh crew working for *********** in my neighborhood. As I was leaving for work that morning I rounded a curve to discover a bucket truck blocking the entire road. There were no signs or road cones set out to warn of a road closure despite the truck having these items onboard. There also were no flaggers despite several Asplundh employees standing around in the road. The unexpected road closure resulted in a significant delay as there is only one way in or out of my neighborhood. Upon returning from work that evening I discovered an Asplundh chipper truck blocking both my neighbors driveway and mine. When I approached the vehicle I found four young guys smoking pot and playing with their phones completely oblivious that there were vehicles trying to get around them. I informed the driver that he was blocking my driveway and asked him to move. Instead of moving out of my way the driver pulled into my driveway and parked the truck. At this point I informed the driver that he was in my driveway and that it was private property, which is clearly posted. The driver claimed that being a subcontractor for *********** gave him the right to trespass on anyone's property and refused to move while aslo disputing my ownership of the property. At this point I called the complaint hot line number on the trucks bumper. In response to this the driver put the truck in reverse and backed the truck through the drainage ditch on the side of my driveway, into my yard, across the street, into my neighbors yard and then pulled up the road out of my way. At this point I parked in my driveway and approached the truck again. I informed the driver he had damaged my drainage culvert, my yard and my neighbors yard and would have to repair them or pay for the repairs. The driver flat out refused to do anything about the property damage and went back to playing with his phone. Later a supervisor did get some of the dirt off my driveway, but that was all.Business Response

They sent a crew to our house to cut branches that were to close to wires for SRP I already had a tree company come out and trim the tree professionally and SRP told us we were good. We were not home so they jumped the fence and got on to the roof of a shed causing damage that was close to the tree and I was on a ring camera telling them they were trespassing and they didnt care and they cut branches that were not even on the side were the wires are. The Whole time they were just waving at me on the camera. I called there office and was giving the supervisor phone number and I left a message never received a call backBusiness Response

I have a city park behind my residence. I had a new driveway installed 4 years ago. This summer, 2024, *********** supply company) hired Asplunh tree trimming service to trim trees inside the park. There are big boulders installed when the city renovated the park several years ago to keep vehicles from entering the park. Asplundh came out and moved one of the boulders to enter the park with heavy industrial vehicles. Driving across my driveway to enter. I have called Asplundh several times. I have spoken with a supervisory and explained that the boulder needs to be put back in place. I was told someone would do so. It has not been done. I have called *** and explained the same issue. Again, I was told someone would come out to my home to investigate. Someone did come out. I spoke with him and he said the he would speak with his supervisor. It is now winter, my driveway is cracked in several places and the boulder has not been put back in place. I want my driveway repaired and I want this boulder put back in place. It is a safety issue because people drive into this park all hours of the night.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is partially satisfactory to me. Although I was told originally when the representative from the tree service came to my residence on February 01, that my driveway would be repaired or the section that was damaged would be replaced. Also, I actually was home when the boulder was moved by the tree service representatives, I asked the workers to make sure that they replaced the boulder when they completed their work. I was assured that they would replace it. They did not.

During the week of 12/16/24, a crew from Asplundh was trimming trees on my property as well as my neighbors' property. They were hired by **************************** to cut down trees and branches touching the power lines. On Monday, December 16th 2024 at 3:31pm, a tree they cut down fell onto our fence, crushing our fence comprised of chicken wire and welded wire (see photos). On Tuesday, December 17th, I spoke to the crew who was working, and they confirmed that "branches had fallen onto a different section of the fence, but they did not know what happened to the far end near the corner" (where the tree had fallen). While they did try to put it back up (attaching it too 4x4's), the fence's structural integrity is compromised in multiple places across an approximately 80' section (see photos), staples that were holding the fence have come out so it is not secure, and it is no longer usable to keep our dogs in as it was before the damage. On 12/18/24 at 4:30pm, I called a supervisor, *******, and spoke to him on the phone. He claimed that he had come out to look at the fence himself (although I was never made aware of this as I was at my house all day) and that there was no damage to the fence. He asked to see the photos I have attached here, to which he said he needed to speak to his supervisor about what to do next.I am seeking either new materials (welded wire and chicken wire) to fix my fence, or compensation so that I can buy the materials myself and fix it myself.Customer Answer

Dear Better Business Bureau,
Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC (Asplundh) returned to the complainant's property and rehung the fence. The complainant contacted Asplundh the following day stating that the fence was not repaired. ********* General ******* and Supervisor returned to the property and walked the fence. The bottom portion of the fence is a rectangular cattle fence. The bottom section is not attached and is hung with poles on each side. The general ******* rehung on the fence. There was no damage upon review. The complainant continued calling the office. The Asplundh supervisor bought him a new roll of fence from Lowes (picture attached).
Tennessee calculates the actual cash value as the replacement cost of the damaged property minus depreciation. In this scenario, Asplundh did not physically damage the fence but hung the fence back up. Additionally, Asplundh purchased the complainant a new roll of fence. There is no additional action for Asplundh to take.
Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because:As you can clearly see in the attached pictures, there is still significant damage to the fence. It requires more than the 50ft of new fence roll to fix it back to the way it was before the company damaged it.

Dear Better Business Bureau,
Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC (Asplundh) was not contracted by the complainant. As previously noted, the complainant alleges that Asplundh caused property damage to the fence. The complainant maintains a rectangle cattle fence on the bottom portion with a small section of chicken wire zip tied at the top. The bottom portion is not attached and is hung up with screws on each pole. The Asplundh General ******* rehung the fence. Asplundh contends that there was no damage to the fence upon examination. Additionally, Asplundh contends that the new fence purchased for the complainant exceeds the Actual Cash Value of the fence. The complainant is able to file a claim in the General Sessions Court if they disagree.Thank you,

On the morning of 12/4/24 We discovered that Asplundh had their cutting tree crew trimming our 50+ year old tree in front of our home. They cut an extensive amount of large branches. One of the workers said they had orders from *** and that they tried knocking on our door but no one answered. That was a lie. Later the same man admitted to my husband he did not actually see that anyone from Asplundh knock on our door before cutting our tree. The damage to our 50+ year old tree is extensive. The50+ year old oak tree was butchered without our permission, they claimed *** placed an order to trim our large oak tree. I contacted Laredo Texas AEP's ******************* and spoke to Mr. ***** ******** who advised me their AEP records indicated *** had placed an order back in December of 2023 but that the homeowner denied the tree trimming so they marked the tree trimming at our address as DENIED. Mr. ***** ********, AEP Forestry, stated Asplundh did not have an AEP active trimming order for our tree located at ********************************************************************. Also, they caused damage to our brick fence, gate, and mailbox. The fence has a long crack, the gate will not close, and the mailbox is cracked as well. Mr. ***** ********, AEP Forestry, did state Asplundh is contracted by *** to conduct tree trimming and that the first thing they are ordered to do is to communicate with the homeowner before any tree trimming may take place. Mr. ***** ********, AEP Forestry reiterated that *** did not have any active tree trimming orders for our address at *************************************** submitted to Asplundh. Asplundh acted carelessly and without care or concern for the wishes of the homeowners and the health of our environment. Asplundh left our tree butchered and in a very bad state. At this time we do not know if our tree will survive the butchering. We are demanding that Asplundh pay us damages in the amount of ****** dollars for the damages.Customer Answer
