My dispute is with both the Greensburg branch of Robertson heating supply company and Fayette Furnace of Uniontown, PA. I had a furnace installed by Fayette Furnace 4 years ago that was supplied to them by Robertson Heating. The furnace has had numerous issues from the beginning, with the control board needing to be replaced at least 4 times. For all repairs in the past, Fayette Furnace has been quick to replace the failing control boards and these were covered by the warranty. Also I should mention that we have been proactive in having our yearly checkups and this is documented by Fayette Furnace who has initiated said checkups. A few months ago when we started using the furnace again for winter, we realized that it wasn't working. The board was replaced again and they found that the heat exchange had also gone bad. As a side note, this explained why we paid 2-3 times as much as normal for propane last year because the heat exchange was not functioning properly and was burning through fuel at higher rate. Fayette Furnace ordered the replacement part which was covered under warranty, but were going to charge us over $1000 to have it replaced. We refused to pay this amount and so Fayette Furnace told us to contact Robinson Heating to see if they would replace the faulty parts on our behalf since they had supplied us with faulty parts. Robinson was unresponsive and acted like they didn't understand why I was contacting them, so I got the information for Rheem who is the manufacturer of the furnace and put in a complaint with them. Rheem organized a visit to our home with members of Robertson Heating and Fayette Furnace in mid-November. At this time they stated that they would be ordering a new furnace and replacing several faulty parts. A month has passed and it is winter and our furnace is not functioning properly and we have had to resort to using space heaters, not to mention this is unsafe for our elderly parents who live in the home. I have talked with Mike at Fayette Furnace numerous times about the issue and he keeps telling me that he isn't getting a response from Robertson or Rheem and that he is also frustrated. At this point I don't know who or what to believe. I had Fayette Furnace install the unit and so I feel like they are responsible to resolve this situation at no cost to me or my family, but Roberston or Rheem could also be the culprit. Either way I was sold a faulty product that needs to be replaced and I need assistance resolving this issue immediately.
