Accused of violating my lease agreement due to unauthorized pets meanwhile i have had my pets way before this company bought the property. I have submitted proof of *** documents as well as the pet addendum and pet screening in which they have claimed was not fully completed which is false. They are also claiming they had no knowledge of my pets in which is also false because they were aware. Its been nothing but issue after issue with this company and i am looking for a solution. Not to mention, they do not answer the phones.

    Good afternoon *******:

We tried logging in to the site to respond to the above complaint but it would not allow us to by saying that the complaint was closed.

Therefore, I have attached a timeline showing our correspondence with the tenant on the reported complaint.  This situation was resolved with Diamond ***** on March 25th.

Jan.30th 2025 ******* in my house has ran out Wednesday morning. I called dna property management to service my oil as they are management . They said it wont get their until Saturday .I asked if I could get rent off this month due to the incident. they claimed its not their fault the oil ran out. I proceeded to explain to the lady that its inhuman living conditions to live without hot water and in the cold for 3 days I spent 200 dollars on a heater and I have to travel far to shower . Unnecessary. They are property management and this was and is unacceptable . They very well take my money but cant compensate me when everyone knows houses has gas/oil and it runs outs. Buts its not their fault . I want my 200 dollars back plus 100 for gas that I wasted.

My rental lease ended, and I initially sent a notice of vacancy. However, I couldn't find a new place to move to, so I withdrew my notice before the 45-day deadline and requested to extend my lease. They refused the extension. I explained that I needed to stay until I found a new place and suggested a month-to-month arrangement, but they refused that as well. Do they have the right to do this? I believe I am legally entitled to stay until I find a place to move. Here are the relevant items from my contract:1.4 #4: We are providing a 45-day written notice of non-renewal as per your lease.4. Ending the Lease: Both the landlord and the tenant must give each other at least forty-five (45) days' written notice before the end of any lease term if either party does not wish to automatically renew the lease for another one-year term. If notice is not timely received in writing, the lease will automatically renew for another year. No agent or employee of the landlord is authorized to waive this written notice requirement.

    Dear ***** ******,
I'm the new **************** *** for D-N-A ********************************************* and wanted to address your letter to the BBB.
We understand your frustration with the rental market right now.
You wrote a negative review on ****** about us so we let you out of your lease with your 45 days notice.
We didn't think you wanted to stay with us.
Please let us know if we can help with anything in the future.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

     Complaint: 22118112

I am rejecting this response because:

My intention to stay was clearly stated in my email from August 8, 2024, which was well within the 45-day notice period we agreed upon in the lease. I informed you then that I wished to continue living in the apartment, and withdrawing my earlier vacancy notice was a part of that decision. I also want to point out that theres nothing in our lease that says I cant change my mind about moving out or that I cant express my opinions.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 12/02/2024

I have been a tenant at the address **************************************** and consistently paying my rent on time and maintaining the property in excellent condition. I have never received any complaints from neighbors or the management company, and have adhered to all terms of the lease agreement.

Issue 1: Non-Renewal of Lease: Despite my good standing, the property management decided not to renew my lease, which ended on September 30, 2024. No substantial reason was provided for this decision, despite my inquiries. The property was immediately listed for the same rental rate I was paying, suggesting no financial or market-driven motive for the non-renewal.

Issue 2: Handling of Rental Application: Upon seeing the listing on 11:40 PM October 1, 2024, I reapplied for the apartment and submitted my application early on 12:20 AM, October 2, 2024, expressing my intent to move in at the earliest available date, October 7, 2024. My application was complete, and I believe I was the first applicant. However, my application was seemingly ignored. I made several attempts to contact the management for updates but received no proper response until after the move-in date had passed. On October 8, 2024, I was informed via text that another applicant had been approved.

I am concerned that the property management's actions might constitute discriminatory practices or retaliatory actions, as there seems to be no legitimate basis for refusing to renew my lease or consider my application fairly. These actions have caused significant inconvenience and emotional distress, as I have had to seek alternative housing unexpectedly.

I seek your assistance to investigate this matter to determine if my rights under the Fair Housing Act were violated.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am looking forward to your swift response and assistance.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ******
