    Just before Christmas I contracted with Zack's Tree Service to have a large maple tree and a willow taken down and a dawn redwood limbed up for $2500. They arrived on schedule with some of the crew working on the willow and redwood and two others working on the maple with the owner walking around often out of my sight. He came to me before they were finished and asked for payment which I said I'd give him when they were finished. He came again and said they were done but I could see that the lowest section which was huge was not cut into small-enough-to-handle sections. He argued with me that they were but I could see that they weren't. Finally he and the 4 others had to push with all their strength to turn it to where they could finish cutting it all the way through. They then left after getting my check. They spent a total of 5 hrs. from start to finish which I thought remarkable since I had had a large oak (granted harder wood) taken down just before Covid and it took 3 men 2 full days at a cost of $2000. That service was a different one and I used them regularly with never a bit of damage to done and perfect cleanup until the owner died unexpectedly. I wasn't able to go out and inspect my yard until late in Jan. and then I saw that Zack's had done damage to a deodor cedar and a gold thread cypress in the area of the willow and damage to a dogwood near the maple plus destroying a Japanese holly at the foot of the maple. Also they did hardly any cleanup of wherever they were working and dug up my lawn by dragging very large limbs to the chipper. I posted a review on Jan. 27 but so far it hasn't been published? Today as I was cleaning up some of the mess they left behind I discovered that they had broken 2. Limbs on my beautiful pagoda dogwood which will really spoil its symmetry and looks and they totally destroyed a beautiful azalea. I will NEVER use this service again!!!

    12/18 we took down a maple and willow tree for customer and did some trimming on another tree while there. The owner stated her son didn't want the wood chipped up to leave it hole because his friend would be coming to cut it and take the wood. After trunk was taken down she came out and asked we'd cut large peice into sections which was done. The yard was blown down and rake to best abilities there was paxosandra that saw down and little twigs might not have been completely blown through.  She paid for the job once completed at the end of the day and we never heard back from her after leaving her property. No disapproval was mentioned at the time of the job being done and payment given.  I am not refunded back the 2500.00 agreed apond price for work that was done.. if she was not able to get rid of the wood and called me back I would have came back and sent it through my chipper. This has been atleast 2 months after job was finished to summit something now tells me the person her son thought was coming to get the wood never had but this isn't our fault or neglect we did WHT hired to do.

    In addition to my other reposne on this dispute. Nothing was damaged during removals on her 1/27 review she didn't even mention anything about damage to other plants or trees until after my reponse on 2/7 back to her review. The marking on the ground from machine and dragging the customer aware would happen and signed off that her yard might have marks from the work being done before hand. I hadn't heard anything of any issue from 12/18 until 1/27 after not being on the property and other people coming there to take wood off her property.  If there was wood they didn't take and she couldn't get rid of she could have just called we could have came back out and gotten rid of it.. the pictures I send we cleaned yard the area in the paxcasandra was so thick not all saw dust or little twigs would have been gotten..

    Be a use of the weather and my age (over 80) I wasn't able to get out and check things until right before my complaint. Zack's left a large limb from the willow on my lawn and smaller branches a all over the ground and on surrounding shrubs. But the worst is the damage they did to my gardens: 2 broken branches on both a small dogwood and a pagoda dogwood and also a deodar cedar; multiple branches broken on a PJM r rhododendron, and 2 azaleas. They completely obliterated a 4 ft. deciduous azalea.no sign of it but a heap of branches where it should be. I don't expect a total refund but they definitely owe me damages. I started taking pictures of the damage and will continue when weather allows.
