Thursday Oct 21 2021 we booked two rooms (family vacation) at the hotel in complaint. Upon checking in the lobby had a horrible odor. Like Dog Poo. The elevator in this location does not work ( not noted online) . The light in our bathroom was burned out and the floor in bathroom was very sticky. There were black oil/grease stains on our pillow cases. When we removed the sheets and mattress pad from the bed there were blood stains and mold on the mattress. The plug cover for the 220 volt AC/Heat unit was missing so the wires were exposed. The carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed in several days,( grass and dirt were all over) The tag on the fire extinguisher in the hall was dated 2019 since it was last inspected. Ceiling tiles in the hall were missing and wires were exposed. When I told Jacey, at the front desk, I could not stay in these conditions and requested a refund she refused and demanded we leave the rooms and the hotel immediately. I said I would comply when I received a refund for both of the rooms I had book for my family. She repeatedly showed up in our rooms demanding we leave so she could remake the rooms as she had someone else who wanted to stay in them. She even called the police. The police were sympathetic to our situation and advised a better place to stay in Somerset. I have been in contact with John the GM of the Sue Stay Hotel and he never offered a refund. His comments included, the mattress should not have been a problem as there was a mattress pad on it, and his staff says the room was clean. All in all we spent less than an hour in the building and they refuse to refund my money for both rooms which totals $144.18 I truly feel this place is a hazard to any traveler or unsuspecting person looking for a place to stay. I would like to see them held accountable for their business. I hope you will investigate this facility and take some action.
