    During an annual heating system check, Essig determined that the system was damaged and not functioning properly. A sales associate provided options for repair and replacement, and sold us on selecting to high-end model due to warranty, efficiency, tax credits, etc. Essig left us on emergency heat for 5 nights during winter until they could install. After installing the new system, they were unable to get it operational and left us (2 adults and 1 newborn) with 2 space heaters for a 2800 sqft house for 3 nights. They also damaged the brand-new unit and drywall during install. They eventually got the unit to run on emergency heat but still have not gotten the unit fully operational, thus causing an increase of electric energy usage. The communication has been non-existent about the plan to finish installation, and this complaint is being submitted 13 days after it was supposed to be complete, still with no heat in March. We also had them perform a duct cleaning service which left dirt and debris all over the house at each register because they did not clean up after themselves. Overall, I am dissatisfied with how the business rushed to get our system replaced with one of their high-end models and now they have continued to delay finishing the project and lack communication for getting this resolved. They have also been messy and not cleaned up after themselves which I have had to do after they leave the house. Additionally, I've had to miss extra days of work to accommodate the business coming back to the house only for them to not resolve the issue or not show up.

    Date of Service: January 30, 2024 I am filing a complaint against Essig Plumbing and Heating for misrepresentation and failure to disclose critical warranty information, which led me to pay $7,800 for an unnecessary furnace replacement instead of a much cheaper repair option.Issue Summary:I contacted Essig for an issue with my furnace. Their technician *** identified a faulty heat exchanger and brought in ***** (salesperson) to discuss options.***** quoted $4,000$5,000 for repairs or $7,000 for a full replacement but never mentioned that the heat exchanger was under manufacturer warranty until 2032.Relying on this incomplete information, I proceeded with the full replacement.After installation, I independently checked with York (the furnace manufacturer) and confirmed the heat exchanger was covered under warranty.Had Essig disclosed this upfront, I would have opted for a simple repair, saving thousands of dollars.I contacted Essigs manager, ******, who admitted they should have checked the warranty.Essig refused to provide a refund, only offering a $1,000 credit toward a future purchase, which is not an acceptable resolution.Desired Resolution:I am seeking a $6,000 partial refund to offset the unnecessary financial burden caused by their failure to disclose the warranty. Essigs lack of transparency prevented me from making an informed decision, and their refusal to resolve the issue fairly is unacceptable.
