1 starWe rented a 16 truck for a cross country move. On day 1 the truck broke down in the middle of ********. We had to wait for another truck to get brought to us to move alllll of our stuff to the new truck. We had spent hours meticulously packing everything into the first truck and were not confident it would fit again. Penske sent 2 guys to do the transfer and they tossed our stuff into the new van like it was garbage. They broke so much stuff. We filed a claim and were promised a call back within 5 business days, it has been 7 and we havent heard back. Every single time we call, we get hung up on while on hold at least once. We returned the truck and were charge $500 more than originally quoted and none of the customer service agents can seem to tell us why. Never renting Penske again and I will warn others to avoid them as well.Review fromJake S

1 starI rented a truck from this company and ot only was it not properly maintained but had damage to it when I picked it up(Unbeknownst to me). Rain ended up getting into the truck and damaging some of my goods. I filed a complaint with their claims department and they completely ghosted me. What's the point of buying extra insurance if they don't pay it out? Talk about a scamPenske Truck Leasing Co. L.P., Inc.

1 star. To Whom It May Concern, I have attached the complaint regarding Penske, along with corporate contacts, and included ********************* in this correspondence. This email addresses a refund of $2,500 that was cashed but has not been returned to the renter, *********************. We have been in communication via email for at least eight weeks and have made numerous calls to corporate and various locations as instructed. We were informed multiple times that the check had been mailed. I am uncertain whether **************** is aware of the poor business practices being conducted by his staff, but I feel it is important to bring this issue to light. I intend to share this situation on social media and other media platforms, as it is unjust. At this juncture, I can only conclude that we are experiencing racial profiling or being treated unfairly due to our status as a minority-owned company. The staff at the ******, ** location, where we originally rented, along with all individuals mentioned in this email, have consistently provided us with inadequate responses, engaging in unprofessional behavior and tarnishing the reputation of Penske. And last there was nothing in the contract nor was we advised it would take 8 Weeks to receive the check back and in this case we still have yet to receive the check .Im very angry frustrated and have been pushed to my limits with Penske Thank youReview fromWillie L

1 star08/28/2023. Received an email that truck was being brought in the shop for prepping. They cover their a** by saying it could take 4 to 6 weeks. 09/01/2023. Truck in shop & would have a delivery date after the Labor Day holiday. 09/05/2023. Estimated ready date 09/12/2023.09/13/2023. Apologized for delay, stated they are waiting on a part. New ready date given 09/15/2023.09/18/2023. Email stated only thing left is detail inside & out, some painting on frame.09/20/2023. Received an email stating truck was back from vendor and hoped to have ready next day.09/22/2023. Open RO on the windshield also the truck had not been paid for by the bank and they were requesting funding. Truck ready but noone available to do the final inspection. Funding completed. 09/25/2023. Manager had been out with the flu and truck would be ready for pick up the next day.09/25/2023. Truck ready for pick up. 09/26/2023 09:00. Picked up truck, it was empty. Asked for enough fuel to make it to truckstop. After listening to moaning and grumbling from manager, employee added some fuel.09:38 Got ******** on interstate and truck had a BAD vibration, also pulling hard to the right to were I had to hold steering wheel to left to go straight and bracket for air deflector on top of cab had loose support bracket and deflector was shaking. Returned truck. 09/27/2023. Truck went to vendor for alignment. 09/29/2023. Truck ready at alignment shop, returning to repair air deflector. * Side Note: later discovered the frame was bent so there was no way a proper alignment could have been done. Later I paid to have the frame straightened so that alignment could be completed.10/06/2023. Air deflector getting new insert, truck should be back 10/09/2023.10/09/2023 4:47 pm. Truck ready for pick up. They didn't put much fuel in it first time I picked it up and I knew it had been driven to vendors for repairs so I asked they to please not give me the truck on empty. 1 starPenske Truck Rentals should be out of business. Their trucks are ****, shame on me for renting twice. Both 26ft moving trucks never had A/C. They claim repeatedly yes the air works, but when complaints are made oh really, no A/C. They know well and good the history on their trucks record and maintenancenone. When asking for a discount suffering through driving through desert heat, no one would ever call us back. Do not rent Penske.ever.Penske Truck Leasing Co. L.P., Inc.

1 starSo disappointed in my most recent Penske experience. We have rented from Penske in the past and have always had a good experience. There was always a benefit to Penske over U-Haul. Those days are clearly over. We made a reservation for a 22 truck and received a 26 truck. We didnt need the additional space and we were made to feel as if we were receiving a gift. Well, the gift included a leaky windshield that allowed water to pour into the truck when raining. A windshield wiper that flew off during the rain because the arm was previously damaged and not caught during the trucks inspection one month earlier. We stopped and purchased a new wiper and had to zip tie it onto the arm in order to make it work. The truck would only go 45mph up hill with a strong wind behind it. It was so bad that we were a hazard to other trucks as we could not maintain a minimum safe speed. When we returned the truck we fulfilled our end of the contract and returned it with all the fuel we were supposed to. The agent at the ********* in ********** did not know how to handle the refund of the wiper or our concerns. I was handed a phone and told to speak with ************ at our local Penske office. **** seemed genuinely interested in resolving our concerns and asked me to forward him our expense to replace the wiper, to date no refund has actually happened. I then asked for a concession given the poor condition of the truck, I was told that a $250 credit was the *** that could be applied. Considering what all had occurred we asked for a refund of what would essentially been the cost of the **** I was told the this request exceeded his purview and that the corporate office would have to approve such a request. It has been six weeks and nothing. It is unfortunate given how positive our previous experiences have been. Also, after completing the Penske survey we still received not a single response from anyone.Review fromBeth H

1 starWe ordered a 12 ft truck for a one way delivery 3 weeks in advance. When we arrived to pick it up, we were told that we had been DOWNGRADED to a van. Luckly if all fit. The rental was mandated for 6 days. However, we arrived at our locatiion 3 days early and only used the van for 3 days.When we called, we were told there would be no refund for the 3 days we did not use the van (yet it was dropped off and rerented during our rental period to someone else)--talk about double dipping. In addition the panel between the driver and passenger seat was loose and fell off during the trip. (we have video) .Will never use them again.,Review fromLaydislen H

1 starI bought a truck more than 12 weeks ago, supposedly it should have been ready between 3 to 4 weeks, it is already the 13th week that I am waiting for my vehicle, it has been in and out of the workshop 7 times. The last time it was about to cause an accident in which several human lives could have been lost, something that could have been avoided if they had done their job well from the beginning. No one gives you a concrete answer, everyone washes their hands, We have to call them all the time to stay on top and get updates. I am currently in week 13 my vehicle is at a dealership for more repairs, the dealer sent the estimate since Friday and I had to call them today to tell them that. They work too slow, they waste time and money, I was almost forced to put the insurance and I had to pay the downpayment to the lender, now my vehicle is still stopped, without making repairs, no one gives me an answer, no one gives me other options, we were scammed by PenskeReview fromMyra J

1 starPenske ****** office stole my $100.00 cash deposit after assuring I would receive my deposit back in cash. The original drop off spot was 3rd Party and they couldn't refund it. So they sent me over 5miles to a main Penske office, where they cut me a bogus check. I tried get it cashed where the check was drawn. **** of America. But the check wasn't even registered. I tried 4 or 5 times, nothing but embarrassment... Everytime I called Penske, they put me on hold, then have no answer or promise they say they will call me back, when they never do. **** and ****** are the main to reps not to be trusted. So either the company is broke, and cant foot their bills, or they purposely gave me a check the knew they couldn't cash. I be sure to keep all recording and expose their poor business practices. I hate to take it to social media but ppl need to know not to do business with ****************** and the ******, CO *********** of 40th they will steal your deposit and make tou feel as it such a ****** to meet the customer's needs.Penske Truck Leasing Co. 1 starReserved cargo van, for $62.99. Went to pick up, over 24 hours, after making reservation, at confirmed time, and location. No van. They offered truck, or to locate, and get. I preferred to wait couple hours, for van. Went to finalize, was told owed additional $144, for security deposit. My receipt had security deposit listed, no amount next to it.
