      My daughter attended the Empire Beauty School from 10/31/2017-08/31/2018. For her to attend this school, she needed financial aid. A loan application was processed without my consent. I never signed any documents, I didn't sit in a meeting, nor was I offered loan counseling for this matter. I got a call one morning to ask me about my child and whether I supported her in getting her education. I don't know who I spoke with because they never offered me a name. This was a 2 minute phone call. Not once was I asked If I consented to cosigning for a student loan nor was I informed that this was taking place. I never received any documents of any processes until it hit my credit report.Years later, my daughter's loan were forgiven as a result of the Sweet *. ******* class action lawsuit and mine are still there. I am trying to cover all bases before filing a formal complaint against this institution.

      I started empire beauty on January,06, 2025 and my tuition fee is about $16,000 I am now here 4 months and I feel as though I havent learned anything my assigned educator as no clue about most of what we should be doing to the point where we have to ****** whats the right way to do what it is that we need to do and whenever we complain to management things still remains the same now Im here to obtain my cosmetology license and Ill need to take a state board exam and if I fail it will be a waste of my money

      EEG *************** aid department has been in possession of my federal aid money for over two months and has refused to disperse those funds to me. They also, against federal rules, reduced my Pell ***** funding after receiving outside scholarships. Additionally, they returned federal student loans dispersed to me without consulting me first.Although the loans have since been redispersed, they have yet to properly release those funds to me. Over a month after the redispersed loans, they issued me two checks. One for $1638 was placed on a 7 day hold from my bank due to "high risk of check being returned unpaid." The second check for $2506 was refused by three separate financial institutions for the same reason. There is also still $3727 in overpayments in my account that have yet to be released in any capacity. They're offer for a fix was to reissue the bad check, however that is not an acceptable solution as the same problems will likely to reoccur with financial institutions refusing to cash them due to a high potential for risk attributed to the issuing account. As they have been in possession of my money for well over two months, I am also entitled to interest on those funds. The current federal interest rate is 4.5%. Compounded daily since December when I was intended to receive my 900 hour expense checks, the total amount owed to me is ~$6800. This amount should be paid in either cash, Money Order, or a direct ACH transfer to my bank account.

      Subject: Complaint against Empire Beauty School Dear Sir/*****,I am writing to file a formal complaint against Empire Beauty School, located in ********** regarding the unjustified delay in obtaining my professional license and the unprofessional treatment I experienced during my time at the school.Despite completing all requirements for my Georgia cosmetology instructor license examination on 8/22/2022. I have been unable to obtain my license due to administrative negligence and incompetence on the part of Empire Beauty School. The school's director, ***************************, failed to submit the necessary paperwork and fees, resulting in a prolonged delay.Furthermore, I faced consistent mistreatment and disrespect from faculty members, which created a hostile learning environment. My reports of these incidents to *************************** were ignored, and no action was taken to address these issues.I request your assistance in resolving this matter and holding Empire Beauty School accountable for their actions.       Im filling a complaint because of the uncleanliness, unprofessional staff who documented falsely accusations of my grades, money that I owe to the school and my reputation. I left the school with a 89 average and few days later it dropped down to 66GPA. The head lady at w-s facility laughs and tells me that Im going to have to pay out A-lot of money. I called her for concerns of my grades being incorrect and getting a transfer. Did not ask her anything about what I owe. They let the students get away with bullying other students, coming to class smelling like drugs, breaking in front of Students who are in line, one of the students about run me over driving as I was walking from and to school. I spoke to the head Director over **************** facility and she seems to care less about my issues. Did not return a call back about transferring schools and tuition cost including the Supervisor for the school in ************* did not return my phone call. I am very concerned about my tuition costs and the grades they had falsely documented and the behavior from the staff, students the rumors they spreading that are not true about me and unprofessionalism from the facility in ************* , ** Empire Beauty School.

      Empire Beauty School 15 *************** ********** ** ***** This school has demanded every check that I received from financial aid and is refusing to provide an itemized detailed breakdown of how the funds were applying to any balance I have with the school! I am left with just an outstanding loan with no detailed information! And what is really strange is the amount of the financial checks were no where to be found on the printout they provided!

      I enrolled at Empire Beauty school for the December 2022 start date under the impression (as I was told from faculty), that the school is able to accept VA tuition and would process my attendance. I told them the specific program I would be using was the ***** program and it was closing December 11, 2022, and the only way I could take the program was if I enrolled for the December program. I was assured that it would be no problem and they rushed to do my paperwork and everything.I showed up for class thinking everything is great. I kept going untilI got a letter in the mail saying the ************ Empire location was not eligible to receive funds. I was shocked so I called them and they explained their paperwork was not in order. I dont know if it has since been updated; however, due to that they were ineligible until the situation was rectified. Only problem, it was past the date at that point that the VA stopped taking applications for the ***** program.Fast forward, I unenrolled and was sent a bill for over $6000 that Im expected to pay out of pocket! This bill has been sent to collections because I refuse to pay for when I was told but the faculty not only in the ** location but also whatever the office in PA is as well that I was good to go as a veteran! That is predatory!

      Went to Empire Beauty School, in ********* ** on Feb 6, 2024, They did NOT have any informtion on my last visit,and I was very frustrated because they had my old information dated 2 years ago and it was not correct, I showed them a pic from my last visit & told them this is what I want, After the shampoo it was NOT what i wanted infact the opposite, The student Never did a hair color,on anyone, I asked for a more experienced student and was given to her NO EXPERIENCE IN HAIR COLOR, infact I was telling her what to do, I have dye on my face, side of my neck, forehead, The student was talking on her phone, swearing, arguing with the student next to her, tell me she had to pee, she was worried about not going to lunch but going to lunch late, telling me about her health issues, after the hair color was done, she left me alone in the chair for 40 ************** told me she was never to leave a client alone in the chair and she did, *** was suppose to stay in for 25 minutes, she left and came back 40 minutes, she was asking everyone what to do next, she even asked one of the teachers how to wash me out, I aksed the teacher if someone else can cut my hair because I DID NOT feel comfortable letting this student cut my hair, Then I am asked NOT to come back because I complained, If I am paying for services, I would like it done right and not looking like a freak with the dye all over me, called corporate and they told me someone would call me back, and NO ONE has called back, I UNDERSTAND it is a school, but to treat customers like c*** is UNACCEPTABLE, Even the lady in the chair next to me said she would ask for someone else, that she would be a BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT. The student name was ****** (maybe misspelled) on her left was ******* (with black fro and different colors) she helped out with the coloring, on her right was ***** maybe *****, she even said she didn't know what she was doing,

      I have attended empire beauty shcooo in York pa on ******* **** for the last 1 and 1/2 years. Today I was told by the head person “ he was withdrawing me from school” I did not ask for that. When I asked for his higher ups number he denied it and said he can’t do that. This was because I turned down a client and gave it to another student. No other reason. There was no paper work. I did not sign anything I had 1 month left of school! I have paid thousands of dollars I have to pay off for loans and this is what I get.. it’s not the first time I’ve heard of this… I’ve watched it happen to a hand full of girls. When telling the head person “****” this was unfair he basically said he can do what he wants and he is kicking me out. There is nothing in the handbook that says he can terminate student like that. There is no structure for mediation and this is wrong!

      The school reserves the right to dismiss a student for any reason, including refusing to complete assigned classes or Student Salon work.  
      The unprofessional behavior displayed by *** ***** was a violation of Empire Beauty Schools’  policies noted in our Campus catalog. This violation, as well as, a previous incident led to the  decision to dismiss *** ***** from the program. 

      We wish *** ***** success in her future endeavors and encourage her to finish her education.

      I was dropped from the program after being in a car accident. I was told that everything will be fine as long as bought in the documentation and file for an appeal. I did all the steps they told me to do and was told that I can no longer do an appeal and that I will be dropped from the program

      This letter is in response to the complaint filed by *** ******, former student of Empire  Beauty School, Boston Campus. 
      Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is required for all enrolled students at Empire Beauty  School. In order to meet SAP, students are required to maintain a cumulative grade average of  75% and a cumulative attendance average of 75%.  
      A student not meeting the cumulative SAP requirements may go into Unsatisfactory Academic Progress. Students have the right to appeal provided the student can demonstrate SAP by the  end of the next evaluation period. If it is determined the student cannot meet the grade or  attendance average by the end of the next evaluation period the student is not eligible to appeal.  
      All students are aware of the SAP Policy. 
      We wish *** ***** success in her future endeavors and encourage her to finish her education  at a non-Empire campus.
