12/5/24 - Failed my 2018 car with less than ***** miles for an inner tie rod, described a very costly repair and then said they do not do that type of repair. went to another garage, they found nothing wrong with the inner tie rod and passed my car for inspection.

I spoke to both of my technicians who looked looked at your vehicle while it was inspected a Harmar Tire and Service. Both technicians felt that the inner tie rod had a 1/4 of play which is the Pa. State inspection standard. We declined doing the repair due to the amount of labor involved described in our repair manual. Our technicians work together as a team so if theres any doubt about a part failing for inspection. They both agree and discuss it with the office manager. If another shop passed your vehicle for the Pa. Inspection doesnt mean that the inner tie rod doesnt fail the inspection or isnt unsafe. We are trying to uphold the safety standards that the Pa. State inspection program is asking us to do on a daily basis. My coined phrase is I fix your car as if it were my own. I have been doing business that way since 1994 and Im not looking to change.

Customers always ask questions and do not hesitate to get a second opinion. When seeking car repairs, customers should be vigilant about potentially fraudulent estimates from garages. Some repair shops may recommend unnecessary services or inflate labor charges to maximize profits at the expense of the customer. It is crucial to obtain a second opinion, especially if a garage suggests extensive repairs that seem unwarranted or if the costs appear excessively high.I went to a different garage, who inspected my car without having to do any of your recommended repairs or expensive procedures, and no new tires or lower tie rod were needed to pass the inspection.

Have taken my cars to Harmar Tire for years , however, took my car to get inspected they previously put the tires on and when they inspected it broke the lug nut and told me to take it to the dealer to get repaired. I got it repaired by the dealer to the tune of a hundreds of dollars the dealer said they broke it by forcing it. I asked Harmar tire if they would compensate me on another service and they refused blamed it on the car. They are all about the money, take no responsibility for customers satisfaction or their reputation. Would not recommend, be aware.

Yes we have been working on your vehicles for the last 3 years without difficulty. You have given us a bad review in the past but we have done our to try and satisfy you and every other customer that chooses to do business with us. Unfortunately your wheel lock key broke when trying to loosen the wheel bolt on your vehicle. We explained everything in detail to you and showed you that we had no tools that could remove the wheel lock without possibly scratching your wheel. Since we always remove and install the wheel lock bolts on your vehicle we feel that the tool breaking isnt our fault. We referred you to ******** **** to remove any blame for the outcome of removal of the wheel lock due to previous experiences. ******** **** most likely had the proper tool to remove the wheel lock. We cant help that ******** **** charged you $356.00. After discussing what happened with ******** the service writer/manager and ***** the technician that worked on the vehicle. As a group we felt that the wheel lock key failed due to age and loosening and tightening over the last 8 years since thats how old the vehicle is. **************** wanted $356.00 and nothing less. If he was more reasonable I would have tried to come to a compromise with him. *************************** owner.
