1 starWoman in the office was extremely disrespectful, laughing at me and mocking the fact that I have dr before my name (Please listen to any recorded phone tapes). She kept interrupting me as I tried to get clarification related to charges.. When I switched from heat to air conditioning, I saw that the air conditioner was working but that the house was not cooling down. My understanding from my call to Schultheis Brothers was that the company would first rule out that the problem was related to the new location of the thermostat for the new furnace they installed a few months earlier. They would then discuss where to go from there, price-wise.The company sent out a technician who appeared to be competent and moved back and forth between the air conditioner and furnaces for awhile before providing me with information. He then told me that the other furnace (not the newly installed one) needed a new blower motor and that this is why the air conditioner was working but the air was not cooling the house, He charged me $105 for a diagnostic visit plus $420 for their annual service contract. I have a home warranty that could have done the diagnostic work for my $75 deductible but called Schultheis Brothers first because the problem might have been related to the new furnace installation done a few months earlier. Their furnace installer from a few months earlier had told me to call if there was any problem related to the new thermostat location.****** told me that his work order said to do the diagnostic visit, which he did. The next day, I asked for a transcript of my original call to clarify any misunderstanding. The woman's level of nastiness increased beyond belief when I asked to speak with the company owner or CEO. She started laughing at me loudly, claiming something about their not having a CEO (please review any recorded transcripts of the call). I want to review transcripts of my original call and speak with the owner of the Company.Schultheis Bros. Heating, Cooling & Roofing

We reached out to speak with the customer in regards to this review and left a voice message for the number we had on file. On May 9, 2024 our service manager did reach out and also leave a voicemail pertaining to her questions, but did not receive a response. We understood she had a question pertaining to the charges and have not even cashed the check she provided upon our visit, as we were waiting to discuss the issue with her. We do not record any of our calls, only the answering service company we use after business hours/weekends/holidays records any calls that come in. We look forward to resolving this and as stated above we have not cashed the customer's check for the invoice in question & will not until the issue is settled.Review fromDaniel O

The customer sent a letter in pertaining to this issue last week and we had not responded yet because we wanted to speak with our crew. However, we do not understand why the customer authorized the repair by his hot water company when he has a three year labor warranty with our company and we would have corrected any issues without charging the customer. The customer did not contact us to correct this issue, which would have been fixed immediately given the opportunity. We even had a service tech go out two months after the furnace was installed to explain how his thermostat worked and he did not mention any issues or smell of gas.Review fromKevin and Janet B

1 starSchultheis installed a new Trane furnace for us in late 2018. After only a month we has issues with the furnace not shutting off after reaching the set temperature. A new thermostat fixed the problem at that time. Then in summer 2023, we had a similar problem, this time with the a/c. Schultheis again changed the thermostat, but the problem persisted. Since it was late summer, we gave up and opened windows instead. The following winter, 2023-24, the problem returned when the outside temperatures went below 32 degrees. We had Schultheis back three more times and each time all they did was replace the thermostat. We even provided a very detailed write-up, mailed to the company manager, explaining exactly how the unit was acting. One would think that, after replacing the original and four more thermostats, they would realize that this was not a thermostat issue. Finally, they agreed to come again and review the entire setup. The tech made some adjustments, but this still did not resolve the issue; in fact, following that visit the problem actually got worse. We finally had to resort to buying another brand-new furnace, not a Trane, from another contractor. We rated as 1 star only because we could not rate with 0.Schultheis Bros. You informed us that you did not want us to return to investigate the issues after we went out multiple times, free of charge and replaced the thermostat free of charge. The two thermostats we installed, you refused to allow us to program them and wanted to do it yourself. Not allowing us to program the thermostats kept it in factory preset mode. There is only so much we can do when a customer will not follow our recommendations. Obviously the other company could not find anything wrong either if they encouraged you to replace a new furnace that was only 5.5 years old. As far as the list/things you had issues with, some of your expectations were unrealistic because it included issues such as " I watch my thermostat at 3am and have to turn it up if it gets colder outside". We also feel that you were incredibly rude to our company and staff, just because you are upset does not give you a right to speak to people poorly. Again, we never refused to come out - that was your choice, as was it to buy a new furnace.Kevin and Janet B

Even after everything we experienced, we tried to write our review giving only facts, not opinions. Reading this response, it is obvious why we had a problem with them -- they do not pay attention to details and make invalid assumptions.First of all, Schultheis installed 5 thermostats, not 2. And the visits last summer cost us $800 - we have receipts. Next, we did not refuse to let them program the thermostats; they did not even offer to. Also, we did not have any other company check this furnace; we decided on our own to replace it because it is a two-stage, and we hate the high speed. In addition, Schultheis obviously did not read our write-**** because what we said was that we had to turn the thermostat DOWN on a cold night to make it stop running, NOT UP. Typically, when it gets too cold, with any other furnace, you would have to turn it UP, NOT DOWN! And it was their technician who was so incredibly rude that we had to ask him to leave our home. Finally, it was Schultheis who said they would not return!Review fromCate A

5 starsWe have had Schultheis Bros. Install and service our furnace and air conditioning since ****. They do a fabulous job of installing and maintaining the equipment without forcing you to purchase anything you do not need. The service techs are always prompt and polite. We do purchase the maintenance agreement. Twice we have called when we had a problem. Once for air conditioning and once for the furnace. As we had the service agreement the tech came to our home in the evening. This was many years ago. We highly recommend this company. if anyone has forgotten they had a contest to award a new roof to people in need. The response was so great that they gave all 3 families a new roof. Who does that? He was personable and knowledgeable. Came on time.Replaced the pump for $100.00 less. Will call them again for maintenance.good company.Review fromBalachandran r

5 starsMy first contact with ********** was in ****. I am an active Schultheis customer since ****. For the last 25 years a tech visits my home for routine calibrations etc. Also the Schultheis installed a number of cooling and heating systems. Comparatively their routine work is inexpensive. Overall I am really impressed by the extremely friendly/courteous approach of the technicians. My neighbors and I am very much impressed by the beautiful roof the ********** installed in 2020. The Schultheis Brothers are excellent in all contests. ****************************** Park.Review fromMichelle M

1 starHad tech come and check furnace and **. He said furnace was ready to go and ** was old but ok. We wanted to replace both but they would not give us a deal. So we decided to replace only furnace. While replacing furnace we were told by tech that there was no **. They unhooked the wiring for the ** so it no longer worked. They told us that they didn't realize that the ** unit was outside ( why didn't they read first tech's report?) Longer story short, they had to come back 3 times to rewire the furnace as it quit working. The last time sending the big bosses to solve the problem. No heat in the winter is no fun. My rating is inept.Schultheis Bros. Heating, Cooling & Roofing

We had to return after the initial installation to finish wiring the ac unit to work in conjunction with the furnace because it is unusual to see the type of outdoor unit that another company installed paired with a modular home furnace, which is the correct type of equipment for their application. We had to return a third time because the weather was too cold to properly test to ensure the outdoor ac was functioning correctly during our second visit. We have no record of the customer having no heat after our installation. The review fails to mention how, on the day of installation, our installers found the customers outside natural gas lines leaking underneath her modular home, contacted the gas company for her, and replaced a section of gas line free of charge. It's unfortunate that a negative review was left when we were very proactive to fix the issues and our team did go above and beyond by fixing the gas line.
