    Highmark Health has received reports from individuals that are either receiving phone calls or being contacted via Google Hangout/Upwork.com.  regarding various jobs with Highmark.  Individuals claiming to be employees of Highmark are offering non-existent positions within the company.  While the email addresses look convincing and reference ‘highmark’ in the email address, they do not have a ‘highmark.com’ exchange and instead are using email addresses with an exchange of ‘gmail.com’.  The scam caller is asking individuals to purchase a gift card, share their completed W-4, driver’s license, birth certificate and credit card information.

    These contacts are NOT from Highmark!

    If you receive a suspicious phone call or email from someone claiming to be from Highmark offering you a position that you never applied for, please do not respond or provide any personal information to the caller. It is best to simply hang up immediately.

    If you have fallen victim to the scam and you have surrendered personal information that is otherwise considered confidential and sensitive (SSN, W-4, driver’s license, birth certificate, credit card information), we suggest that you do the following:

    *Contact your local law enforcement authorities

    *Contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at www.ftc.gov  to report the scam

      I signed up for health insurance through BCBS back on March 8th. I paid my binder/initial premium payment of $50 through Highmark's e-portal. The payment was paid on March 8th, 2024 and I received a confirmation e-mail with 2 confirmation numbers. I had a doctor's appointment on March 27th, and come to find the day before on the 26th, they never received my payment. I have called multiple times. Each time, I'm faced with providing the confirmation numbers and they are unable to locate my payment. I've been told multiple different things that my payment was lost, the confirmation number is for a check under someone else's name, and the payment has been found and then told it was lost again. Representatives have told me they'd call me back and they never have. I have not been offered with a resolution besides wait for the internal team to call, yet nobody has called. I've offered to see if they can find my payment through my bank account number and eBay card number, but I've been told to just let their internal team investigate. My claim is stuck in the process status, my health insurance does not show active in the app, it is still showing my premium payment hasn't been made, and my account still says I owe my $50 premium for March, though it has been paid. I just want this fixed.

      When you get disrespected and tell them what they are doing isn't right and hang up on you 4 times. The manager *********************** up on me 3 times, made me cry when I kept asking for a different manager he told me NO . I asked to cancel my coverage he told me NO. I got it canceled and after the lady was done talking to me he got on the phone . I hung up. He called back and I said if you call me one more time it's harassment. He tried to call me back twice then had a member named ****** call me. I said I had already canceled and that I'm reporting them he hung up immediately. This is supposed to be a MEDICAL INSURANCE and they treat people like this? This is not okay. They are supposed to be helping hundreds of people and this is the way they treat them?
