Trued to cancel sche6duled appt because it was too cold, arrived late. ****** pull in driveway, proceeded to charge ******* for a 15 min diagnostic test. He then expressed concerns over the outdated fuse boxes and quoted ********* to replace. When told I did not have the funds at that time. Then said he would replace sub fuse box for ******** and again told I did not have funds at this time. The original issue was the new dryer was not heating up. I asked him if he could replace outlet, told the cost would be *******. I asked him to speak to owner of the house, my Mom, who tried to asked what exactly he would be doing and the costs, and he told her she was incompetent and he would only speak to me,her dtr. He continued his rant about senior citizens, protecting rights, senators????she is very competent, only hard of hearing and was very insulted and ashamed. Needless to say between his outrageous prices, but more importantly, his arrogance and argumentive attitude, I have never met anyone that rude! He was asked to leave. He spent more time writing on his invoices in the hr he was here to cover his liability than anything possibly considered useful. Worst experience ever!

*** the house was over 100 years old. The fuse box didnt have a cover on it, which was a fire hazard. The second fuse box had burn marks in it, and the dryer plug was burning up. No electrical update has been done in a home for at least 80 years and it was a fire risk. It needed ****** and it needed some serious repairs. Everything went well when I was dealing with the daughter. But then the daughter tried switching me off to her mother, which was deaf and that had dementia she said, and I told her I couldnt deal with somebody that doesnt have a meeting of the minds to make a decision. We dont take advantage of our customers that dont understand contracts. Its against a consumer protection law to deal with people if they do not understand what is going on the questions? I asked her mother she gave me erroneous answers that made no sense. I told her the only way we could deal with is if I dealt with her younger daughter They got insulted started swearing and threw me out of the house. I did have to document that there was no cover on the fuse box and this is a fire hazard and theres rust and corrosion in the l80+ year-old fuse box. we cannot be on the hook for a fire because these people do not take care of their electrical and its our policy that if you do not understand the contract and you put us in that unreasonable position that you need to supply us with somebody with like power of attorney or somebody that it was competent to understand the contract terms and what we were doing. It is difficult for contractors to protect themselves with the elderly, and if we feel that somebody is incompetent deaf does not understand or cannot have a meeting of the minds which by law states to have a valid contract you, both parties must understand what the contract terms are, and she clearly didnt therefore, we reverted back to her daughter and that she got insulted. I would rather have a chance to explain our review that we did not want to take advantage of somebody elderly that doesnt understand whats going on then sit and have a liability fire or be in court with these People for their house burning down or any other incompetent excuse for not wanting to pay the bill they can be somebody elses problem. Theyre unreasonable customers we protect our customers that do not appear to be confident based on the interaction anybody reviewing this should see this as a positive movement with our company because we are not gonna take advantage of somebody if they dont understand the contract terms, especially your older parents we would rather not work for them if theres gonna be problems, yes we pick and choose our customers and if we feel that they are not a good fit we do not work for them. We want competent good and understanding customers that understand what is going on how the work is gonna be done and how much everything is if you dont understand that we will not write a contract with you or enter into any agreement thats for the protection of our customer in our business. The people that have children and elderly customers should have their children there to sign contracts and assist them. It is unreasonable to put these type of situations on service contractors. We are not psychiatrist or caretakers. We are service people. State law says a competent , cogent person needs to authorize contracts and understand the terms and conditions. If the daughter wouldve just continued with the transaction and not pushed the alleged dementia, deaf mother on us we would had be fine with dealing with the daughter. If youre reading this review, it should be crystal clear that we gave customer protection just as we would for you if your elderly parents called us and was spending money that you may not want to approve or did not understand we dont run our business like that, we would much rather leave until a competent person is able to enter into a legal contract and understand what is going on and have meeting of the minds. Please have somebody accompany your elderly parents that are not cognate when a service person comes to your home Pennsylvania has strict laws on dealing with elderly folks and penalties, and we avoid those problems and we do not want any misunderstandings. We believe the children should be there to help their parents to make business decisions especially when you havent had your Electricn updated in over 100 years theres gonna be a cost associated with a large sum of money. The daughter refused to take control further and tried to push it on to us with her mother That was not cognate. The transaction ended. She can be upset all she wanted. She got mad because she took it personally that we expressed to her that we believe that she doesnt understand based off of the response that she was given it wasnt about being rude. It was about wanting to continue to deal with the daughter that refused and wanted to push us onto her mother that was incognito and incompetent and deaf and we cannot deal with somebody like that and will not deal with somebody like that. That is not good business and fair dealings Type of business older people get ****** off because they think when you tell them nicely that I would like to deal with your daughter and then they want to write a rant here and complain. We have an A+ rating and she said we have three complaints in 15 years. Im like Lady we dealt with ****** people Over 35 years. Were not trying to have arguments. You have to have your daughter continue with the contractor we cannot work for you. She blew a fuse and started screaming. We left. We cannot deal with unreasonable. People people only come here to complain. Thats the goal of the Internet. Nobodys coming here to say youre great Especially people that want to frivolously complain over baseless claims if they dont get their way. Our A + plus rating speaks volumes.

In response to the above comment, which appears to be a novel. The house is NOT 100 yrs old, built in the 1950's. Any necessary updates to any of the systems in the house were done by my father who built houses. The owner of the house is my mother, who does NOT have demetia, never has, is not incompetent, fully cognizant and I believe that is slander. I asked to have her understand his outrageous money demands and the work that needed to be done before handing over a credit card. She is hard of hearing, He became belligerent, for all the talk of protecting seniors, I believe he is the worst offender/predator. NO ONE WAS SWEARING OR SCREAMING at him, honestly 2 over 65 women, really! The dryer plug was not burning up, in fact does not need replaced and again the house is not 100+ years old !! It appears he was more worried about being paid and not being sued. When I asked how long and when the work would be completed, his response was WHEN YOU PAY ME. For the 1.5 hr that he was here, I could not have had a worse experience, I simply told him this was not going to work and please leave.I have since had 2 VERY experienced electrician visit with free estimate, free diagnostic and have signed to have all work completed at a third of the cost quoted by the above Waldron Electric, who are also horrified by the behavior exhibited by waldron as it gives other reputable electricians a bad name. For all the above talk about protecting seniors, he is very much a predator of seniors for financial gain. SO SAD..

Yesterday, a portion of our house had electricity, but there was no heat, WIFI or power in my kitchen. We checked the circuit breaker and reset the fuse, however nothing happened. We thought that since we had some power, that is must be a problem in the fuse box. We called a different repair company, but we saw Waldron Electric next door. We asked if he could come over and ***** the problem. He came in, stated the charge was $973 (although my neighbor paid $175) and I needed to pay that. I commented that it seemed high and he stated that he was cheaper then others. He went downstairs (5 minutes) and put a meter on the circuit box, and said there was nothing he could do and it was the power company problem and I needed to call them. When we called the power company, we were told that the neighbors were having the the same problem. Obviously, Waldron Electric knew what the problem was before entering my home. We asked that he replace the circuit breaker, he said no, there was nothing wrong with it and didn't need replaced (but it happened again today). He took advantage of us and the fact that we had no heat in the middle of winter. We are senior citizens and have health issues. I would never use this company again.

I have an older house in Forest Hills, Pa (Pittsburgh) with a front (finished (game room) cellar and a back cellar with all the utilities, furnace, water, heater, etc. There's a light switch as you enter the back cellar on the left wall and it stopped working. The light still works with a pull cord. I called Waldon Electric and a gentleman (?) came at the prescribed time, (almost) and tried the switch and told me it didn't work. I said, I know that's why you're here. He had already charged me $135.00 "diagnostic fee" to come through he front door and said he needed At Least another $1700.00 to make the switch work. We parted ways. The man was nice, snotty nice, and I don't recommend this firm to anybody. I feel "had." His parting comment was everybody wants everything done for nothing. That's what you get from Waldron Electric. Nothing. ***** ** ****** *** ******* **** *********** ** *****

*** barged into the house and was very **** and was not interested in solving our problem and wanted a limit of $2000 to start looking for the problem with one circuit.

We were called out, no one barged in. Customer had extensive ************************ problems and an estimate was given for the work. No one was ****, the workers simply gave an estimate he apparently didnt like.

The customer wanted us to do plumbing and ************************ work as he said other electricians refused to do his plumbing and pull out and disconnect his dishwasher. We agreed to Handle removal of his dishwasher and deal with the plumbing and disconnecting and replacing the dishwasher but that was added in the estimate and he didnt like it. We like other electricians generally dont do plumbing and appliance removal, that needs to be accessible for us to test the electrical. ************** is skilled enough to remove the dishwasher and plumbing and hoses but we dont want the liability of a plumbing leak. We are willing to remove and reinstall the dishwasher but it was added into the cost of the work as its much more work on our part to deal with disassembly and reinstalling dishwashers and appliances. The customer should have had the dishwasher removed for us to work on the wiring as the other electrician refused to even touch the work. Typically an appliance repair company would remove all appliances and install them after diagnosing electrical issues. We offered to do that dishwasher removal and reinstall but that cost extra as its more work and liability. He wanted to under pay for all that work. He didnt like that the Tech Told them to call an appliance company to save money just like the other electricians said. So he blames the technician for being ****, thats called reality, thats not being ****.

I scheduled Waldron Electric to replace an existing outlet with a GFCI so that I could have a chair lift installed for my 96 year old father. Before he even arrived at the home, he told me that this was going to cost close to $1000. Assuming that he did not understand that there was an existing outlet that only needed switched out, I let him go to the house despite the $125 cost for the service call. While there, he determined that the cost to replace the outlet was going to be $1250. According to **** website and several others, the total should have been under $300. When I asked him to justify how a simple outlet ($35 off the shelf at both Lowes and ************ I was told that he was going to have to drive all over to find parts and that he would need to be compensated for his time, and that his rate was $225/hour. He was also extremely rude, and complained about cobwebs in the basement of a house that is over 125 years old. When I questioned the price, I was told that the lowest he could offer was $995, unless I was willing to pay cash. I would never hire anyone from this company nor will I recommend them.

The house was deplorable. The work was estimated on the time to retrieve the parts, cleaning up the entire basement that was FILTHY and all the thick cobwebs with big juicy spiders in the center of the webs. These were ALL OVER the basement where we needed to work. If we have to clean your house, get filthy working in it, risk getting bitten by spiders then you will pay more for Deployable working conditions. She should have called ***** if she can do the work cheaper. She said it was a disaster and has not been cleaned in 75 years so we told her if we have to spend all day cleaning your cobwebs with shop vacs and brooms and going in unsanitary conditions we will but we will have to charge her for this. No one will work in those conditions. You pay us enough we will. Others would simply walk away it was so deplorable and unsanitary.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they will price ***** you. We called Waldron because electricity went out in one of our bedrooms. Technician came out and first charged $125 trip fee and then $1575 to check both of our panels. He found one breaker that he said was tripped but it was "hidden" so we would have missed it. He then charged $525 to just flip the switch. When that did not fix the issue in the bedroom, he then ran a "diagnostic" test which took less than 5 minutes and he was able to find the outlet that was bad that was causing the issue. That diagnostic test cost $2480. He then replaced the bad outlet for $1880 more. After that worked and power was restored to the bedroom, he said he noticed one of our outlet was loose in the hallway. He then charged another $225 to fix that. He was here about 2 hours total and bottom line with the fees and charges the total for the job was $6810 which was essentially just replacing two outlets. We could have our whole house rewired for what we were charged.

Customer had multiple and extensive ************************ problems that needed advanced electrical equipment along with a highly skilled technician to solve them. Electric wiring and devices wear out and dont last forever. They said they have not had any problems in over 25 years but now theyre experiencing electrical problems. Their electrical should had been upgraded when moved into the 50 year old house so they would not be experiencing these problems and not require expensive repairs. Higher value professionals tend to price their services accordingly. We have spent countless hours and dollars acquiring the knowledge necessary to help you. Discount trainers will offer discount results.. This applies to most professionals. We solved all their multi problems in that same day.

Came to the house and looked at the electric switch unit in the kitchen and said they could fix at once. Told them to go ahead and fix it. The job took less than twenty minutes. They sent two men and two trucks where it was only a one- person job. The bill came to $1575. While the one tech did the job the other tech was outside in one of the trucks. Said i would have to pay the charge or they would go to court. We are 83 years old and should not be treated this way. Please do not do business with this firm as you will lose money.

Did not even come to my house. Called me and estimated that running a line from one side of the based to the other would cost between $800 and $1800. When I said I would call him back after checking with another electrician, he said that I should just get someone else to do it because he "doesn't play games going back and forth between him and another elcetrician." So he basically demanded that I accept that price immediately without even consulting any other person. When I wouldn't agree to that he hung up the phone. What kind of legitimate company demands that you immediately take their estimate on the spot? How is that playing a game?

If you're really, really desperate and don't care how much it's going to cost then call these guys. I'm appreciative they came out on short notice, but I do feel taken because they're not up front about costs. They only mentioned the diagnostic fee of $125 on the phone, and that's really just to come into your house and have you explain the issue to them. They don't charge by the hour, they charge a very expensive flat fee (in my case $640) that you only find out about after you're on the hook for $125. Read the comments and you'll see they respond saying that "emergency" services are expensive, well they never describe it as "emergency services" when you call them so you think you're calling a regular electrician. It's lying by omission. The technician sounded relieved when he said I was cool because I didn't yell at him like most customers. I guess most people don't like their racket. $830 total for 10 minutes of work.

DO NOT USE. Wish I would have seen these reviews before they returned my phone call. Like others I was in an emergency situation. Waldron returned my call, said they would waive the trip fee, which I'm fighting with them now to have removed from my bill. Charged me 1936.40 to replace a main breaker. When I told them I could have an entire electrical upgrade for this amount, Tom's reply was, "Not on a Saturday, at 22 degrees, the week before deer season". The emergency was the weekend before Thanksgiving week on a particularly cold snap.
